Linder I can accept playing poorly. He is going to struggle for the first few games of his career.
Bradfield is just plain bad and his play is unacceptable. Luke has been taking some heat, but I thought he play pretty decent. The sack he gave up was a coverage sack and it seemed lime the skins blitzed about 5 guys. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Linder I can accept playing poorly. He is going to struggle for the first few games of his career. I agree, Luke (especially with the Hurns injury) might be the Jags best offensive player right now, I know that's not saying much but it's a start haha.
HEY!! Lets put in Bortles. He can do it!!
Lets get him killed and throw off the development of hopefully the future QB. But but Manning had a lousy line and look what he did, I keep reading. So? We're annointing BB the next Manning are we?
At the end of the day I expect the OL to play better as the season goes on, but I don't believe the Jaguars C and RG of the future or on the roster right now. This team needs to add 2-3 high end NFL-ready talents to their offensive line, whether it be through FA or the draft. If you have to overpay like the Titans did a couple a years back with a stud like Andy Levitre then that's what you have to do, you simply can't field the disaster of an offensive line this team is fielding on Sundays and expect to win, it stunts the growth of your offensive.
Quote:HEY!! Lets put in Bortles. He can do it!! Blake will certainly help this offensive line, he processes information faster than Chad (which allows him to go through his progressions and get the ball out quicker) and is certainly a better athlete, the addition of AP at RT and a more competent QB will do wonders for this offense. I think it is good that we can see who exactly is giving up these sacks, but what about the running game? What can we do to get better there? Start by utilizing Gerhart's strengths... which doesn't include running sideways. I would have thought the coaches were smart enough to know that by now.
But even then, these guys cant move the defenders. You cant teach size and strength that we don't have.
17 missed tackles yesterday, too according to PFF. That number seems low to me.
Poz and Guy had 3 each. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

They need to just have him between the tackles only.
I'm not worried about Joeckle at all. He has played well for the first two games. Remember it is still only his 7th? game as a player, he's on his way to being really LT in the league. Beadles ie sketchy, and the right side is horrid without Pasztor. I think Linder will get better as the season goes on.

You can't take a square peg and try to jam it into a round hole and expect success. Gerhart isn't a guy that's going to get the corner on a stretch play 9 times out of 10, so why keep trying? Utilize him between the tackles and with screens and let him do what he does best. If you want a stretch, put Robinson in there and let him have at it. You're right that it still comes down to the OL doing their job. No matter where we're running the ball, if we don't hold the point of attack and create lanes, it's never going to look any better than it does right now. Never argue with idiots. Better athlete. Yes. Meaning he can run for his life better
Blakes Life Matters
I'm not worried about the rookies.. I'm worried about Chad Henne becoming as mobile as Christopher Reeves before mid season.

Quote: As I pointed out in another thread-and at various points in the offseason and preseason, not a single guy who started on the OL in last year's opener started yesterday in the same position. Joeckel started at RT last year and is LT this year. That's it. Two other guys were on the bench. One guy was on Denver, and Linder was in college. Pasztor's return will only improve things so much. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
One thing I'll give Chad, he is durable. I'm surprised he isn't broken in half yet.

An out of shape Richie Incognito would be an instant upgrade at the guard position.
I'd look at Eric Winston, he's be a huge upgrade at RT

Can we leave the personal insults behind for a while and get back to some semblance of topic, gents? Please, and thank you. Quote:As I pointed out in another thread-and at various points in the offseason and preseason, not a single guy who started on the OL in last year's opener started yesterday in the same position. It takes time to gel as a unit. It'll take longer when they still aren't committed to a starting group, and one of their starters is out. Getting AP back will help significantly, but it's still going to take time. Joeckel for all intents and purposes is a rookie. He's going to get a pass for now, even though on this line, he's probably the best of the bunch. If this line isn't ;playing better a month from now, we're in trouble. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
