Can we nominate Andre Branch for his ridiculous windmill celebration after a sack when we're losing 17-0 and it's about to get worse?

The celebration was much needed.  Getting blown out and dominated and still showing enthusiasm. I liked it.

I personally don't understand why this bothers people.  If you make a play, celebrate.  Do what you want.  What's the big deal?  I'll take a sack+celebration over no sack+no celebration EVERY TIME.

It's just made him look like an idiot.  You're getting blown out of the water and you just made your first good play all day.  There's nothing wrong with being excited about it, but it makes you look like an idiot when you do your super ridiculous windmill dance.  At some point there's a word that needs to be told to him, and that's "scoreboard".

I think the D played better after Bortles came in.  With Henne they were on the field almost the entire first half. I think he got what, one first down in the 1st half?

Quote:I say the defense.

They didn't stop a thing. They couldn't stop a runny nose with a kleenex factory today.

Sorry, but the strength of this team was supposed to be the defense. It's the same old sorry can't tackle, can't sack, can't stop a pass stuff we've seen for too long.

It all sucked, but the defense sucked for both halves today, so there's that.
Agreed.  For all the talent that is out there on defense, they've taken a huge leap backward from the first half of the first game.  Nobody expected this defense to regress the way it has.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The D did play better in the second half, but I think it was largely due to Indy pulling starters off of the field. Andrew Luck especially.

Not having the three and outs from our offense certainly helped as well.

Yeah, I think the game changed significantly when Indy pulled their starters.  The defense was getting more of a breather with the offense putting together longer drives, but I don't think we can chalk their ineptitude up to being fatigued.  If that's why they struggled, they started the game fatigued the past couple of weeks because they haven't really stopped anyone consistently from the very start of games 2 or 3.

I think they got a bad start, and then when they kept taking a beating things got worse.

Interestingly our Defense looked best in the Philly game -- where we started with the ball.  The last two games our defense has started out on the field.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

That doesn't bother me. It was a pretty good play. What bugs me is when players celebrate after making a tackle after the offense gains a bunch of yards to convert a 3rd down. *That* is downright silly.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I agree. Act like you've done it before. But when you're getting smacked around all day, and you finally make a play, just get back to the huddle and maybe, just maybe...do it again.

It appears that when you're losing bad, and it's on your side of the ball, celebrating one play makes it look like you don't get a chance to do it often

But on another note, I did get a laugh when the offense finally got a third down conversion and the whole place stood up and cheered loudly. I'm sure that sarcastic gesture was heard on the sideline.

Anyone complaining about the defense doesn't understand football or the importance of the TOP battle. Just look around league at the scores of the games last Sunday. Guess what? Teams score points; offenses are moving the ball on everyone's defense.

The difference between giving up 24 pts and 41 points is time of possession. You can't ask the defense to be on the field for 78 plays in one game and have an level of success. You can't go 3 and out over and over and expect the D to overcome that. It's completely unreasonable. Quite frankly, the defense has been sabotaged by Gus Bradley's mishandling of the qb position.

Gus is the donkey.
