It's just a joke, a very mild joke really.

I actually thought it was funny then I gathered more info on the Ebola death toll --- In 2014 alone, 7,470 people have been identified with Ebola and 3,431 people have died from it.

I personally hate the PC police but I think this one is borderline.

Not Jaxon's most PC moment and it very well could lead to an hour or two of sensitivity training.  That said, it was just a spontaneous attempt to dig at all of those annoying yellow rags being waved around the stadium.  It worked, I laughed (guess that makes me an insensitive [BLEEP]).  I'm pretty sure nothing like that will happen again.

If anything, Towelgate (as it has been dubbed) provided more publicity to the Ebola fight. Not that Jaxson deserves a medal, but come on, people… Let's be reasonable here.

I think Lamping's strong response was a little unwarranted and hung Jaxson out to dry a bit.

What if it said "Towels carry smallpox"?

Bad taste and not very funny.  I'm not easily offended unlike the rest of the agenda crowd we now have in this country.  How upside down that people get offended by words and happily # tag all day long but never do anything real or take action.

A spokesperson actually suggested shutting down travel from a hot zone would be politically incorrect. Thanks for flushing my tax dollars down the drain on incompetence.

Edit:

Removed the reference that would probably up my warning count.

More people die from falling.

Far more. We must ban all falling jokes.

It's iffy. Ebola is a real problem overseas right now and it's very serious, so with that I can see how it could be considered bad PR.

On the other hand I totally get and applaud the joke he was making about those darn towels.

The PC police not with standing, would he have made a similar joke about the AIDS virus? That virus is killing 15,000 per year in the USA.

I'm not offended in the least bit.

Was it funny?  Not really in my opinion.  I don't find disease of any kind a joking matter, especially a deadly disease.

In my opinion it was just poor taste.

Toxoplasmosis would have been more applicable .

Doesn't matter. Here we are defending our mascot. Meanwhile the team, especially offense, played like wet towels.
