I wanted Barkley as a flier in the 4th round. Big deal. I didn't advocate using a higher pick on him than that. For a team that was QB starved like the Jags it wouldn't have been a bad gamble. Ace Sanders ain't doing squat other than getting injured, either. 

 

Lefevour was a mis-eval I admit that. I pulled a Gene Smith there and fell in love with the player from a couple early games I saw and neglected to see his weaknesses. His lack of arm strength simply was too much to overcome at this level. 

 

Barkley in the 4th would be a wasted pick. If you are going to take a flier on a QB, make it a project QB... not a scrub that couldn't even win at frickin' USC.

And you advocate so much against being stuck in a mediocre place as a team with constant 6-8 win type seasons when that's the type of guy Barkley was in college I don't know what makes you think a light switch will suddenly go on for him once he hit the NFL.

Theres something not right with Barkley's arm - meaning, he's clearly still feeling effects from the previous shoulder injury, Maybe thats why he fell to begin with. Probably is.

I don't really get it, but draftniks/scouts are still saying he has a very good chance at being the top senior QB off the board (ahead of Boyd and Mettenberger). I understand he has basically every tool, but he is just like his brother in perhaps the most important one and that is terrifying. Back foot throws for days.

Well those two other senior QBs you mentioned have now had absolute garbage games this season. So their stock dropped.

yeah because we're clearly in position to gamble with our draft picks rather than taking players we know can contribute
