Derek Carr Watch
|
Quote:I wanted Barkley as a flier in the 4th round. Big deal. I didn't advocate using a higher pick on him than that. For a team that was QB starved like the Jags it wouldn't have been a bad gamble. Ace Sanders ain't doing squat other than getting injured, either. Barkley in the 4th would be a wasted pick. If you are going to take a flier on a QB, make it a project QB... not a scrub that couldn't even win at frickin' USC. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I would love to have Carr as a second QB picked but it looks like he will go too high for that.

Quote:Derek Carr watch??? Whew our fans loves them some fraud QB's.... Yet you admit LeFevour was a fraud. Stop throwing stones when your glass house is already broken. And you advocate so much against being stuck in a mediocre place as a team with constant 6-8 win type seasons when that's the type of guy Barkley was in college I don't know what makes you think a light switch will suddenly go on for him once he hit the NFL.

Theres something not right with Barkley's arm - meaning, he's clearly still feeling effects from the previous shoulder injury, Maybe thats why he fell to begin with. Probably is.
I don't really get it, but draftniks/scouts are still saying he has a very good chance at being the top senior QB off the board (ahead of Boyd and Mettenberger). I understand he has basically every tool, but he is just like his brother in perhaps the most important one and that is terrifying. Back foot throws for days.

Well those two other senior QBs you mentioned have now had absolute garbage games this season. So their stock dropped. I personally think it's just the Tyler Wilson stuff again. People gushing over a Senior QB with great intangibles who will still end up a mid to late round pick. He will obviously go higher than Wilson because Wilson had that awful final season.

Quote:difference is....I learned. You don't see me pimping QB frauds like that this year, do you? In the most recent draft, you were criticizing the Jaguars for not picking a fraud QB (Barkley). If after the 2014 draft is completed you aren't bickering about the Jaguars not taking some fraud QB (LeFevour, Barkley) then I'll believe you have learned.

Last year, and again, for a 4th rounder.....and that was before I knew about the shoulder injury being worse than reported.

Matt Barkley couldn't win at USC and you wanted to throw away a 4th round pick on him. You still can't admit you were wrong, though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:It was the most recent draft, so it is the draft I am referencing. Matt Barkley was good enough the year before to be widely considered as a top 5 overall pick had he entered the draft that season. He screwed up. Did he regress? Yes somewhat. Was a 4th round pick still worthy of the gamble for a QB needy team had that shoulder not been an issue? Absolutely.
Quote:Matt Barkley was good enough the year before to be widely considered as a top 5 overall pick had he entered the draft that season. He screwed up. And by his senior year, the NFL realized how many flaws Barkley had. I don't waste picks on fraud QBs. You, apparently, would.
Quote:Matt Barkley was good enough the year before to be widely considered as a top 5 overall pick had he entered the draft that season. He screwed up.yeah because we're clearly in position to gamble with our draft picks rather than taking players we know can contribute

Quote:Literally all you do here is pick arguments with people.Did you miss the part where TMD said we like fraud QBs? He said it first, I'm merely pointing out he has swung and missed on two QBs.
Carr is getting exposed against this MIGHT San Diego State defense so far.
TEST
Yeesh almost 50 passes for Carr with a YPA under 4. Mannion has been almost as bad but at least he is going against a good defense.
