FSU's Game Against Florida Showed Us All Something Today...

Quote:SEC fairweather fans who like to dismiss GT's win vs UGA because they were ranked in the top 10 are the people who turn on the teams in their own conference. After all, they are the ones who display boorish behavior about how "competitive" their conference is from top to bottom.Who dismissed the GT win? GT beat the 5th best team in the SEC in OT. They're in the title game of their conference. That's not dismissing anything. That's perspective. There's nothing fairweather about that.

Well if I learned how to read you wouldn't have to repeat yourself .

Back to the original OP - I don't think that's true at all. I think Winston had a really bad day and actually the Noles are pretty fortunate to have won. The Gator D is really good. With that said, Jameis, even though he had a bad game, really bad, when he's on, there is no other QB playing in CFB right now who as good as he is, talent wise. He's a good football player and you can't deny that no matter what side of the fence you sit.

I think the perception is he's pretty good, not as great as the thought, but still good. Quote:I don't know if thats the perception though. He seems to have peaked last year.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."
Quote:if you talk to fans from all over the nation, the overall perception of Jameis Winston is that he isn't good.I think he's inconsistent for sure. When he turns it on he's incredible, but then you have the other part of his game, so I don't know. The talent is there in spades and if he can get that consistency, he'll be a good NFL QB. Hard to deny his anticipation, feel for the pocket, arm strength, etc. He has all of those things you want in a big time QB, you just want to see that more than a half of football. Quote:Tebow had intangibles too. Tebow's problems were the tangibles. Winston has those in spades as well as the intangibles. There's really no comparison between the talent of the two. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
Quote:college and the pro game are totally different. How is it different? Do you hate your rivals any less for College Football? There is ONE instance of this behavior in ALL of sports that I am aware of...and that is with SEC's College Football. I repeat, this does not happen in Hockey, not in the NBA, not in NFL...not in MLB. Even college basketball doesn't have it. Seriously, can you picture Duke cheering for UNC after Duke gets bounced during March Madness?!?!? HAH! Laughable. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Sure some fans do it to mock others, but you dont think deep down they were doing it because they beat an SEC team and they were really showing their conference pride? I feel like its pretty obvious that they were extremely happy with themselves for beating an SEC team. They are throwing it back in their face. Clearly, they were glad their conference "won". Had the other teams lost and only FSU won (and a close win at that against UF), you don't think SEC fans would be all thumping their chests going "HAH! SEE ACC SUCKS!"? I mean, I already see SEC apologists "qualifying" the wins because this is a down-year for UF and SC. One can only imagine how bad they'd be trashing ACC had the other teams won.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
