2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?

I believe that Rd 2 and the early part of Rd 3, there will be a run on RBs in the upcoming draft. If the Jags want a RB of a similar ilk to DeMarco Murray, they can draft his clone in Tevin Coleman out of Indiana, but only with Pick 36.
BTW, DO NOT TRUST the current draft ratings that are being published by ESPN, NFLDraftScout or whomever. I have been working the NFL Draft since the 70s and these private prognosticators have a poor record of selection accuracy beyond Rd 1. If you have to trust someone, trust your own eyes over these talking heads like Todd McShay of ESPN. At LG over Beadles, who you just paid a ton of money? At RT, where he would be out of position as a pro? I mean it would not be totally unheard of, as Searcy moved from G in Pittsburgh to RT in Jacksonville. Still there would be an element of risk there. On an unrelated general question. If Jacksonville somehow signs Jason Pierre Paul (doubtful he ever sees the free market) and Leonard Williams is off the board at 2, what do you do at 3? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Where you you play Iupati? I would replace Beadles with him.
RT- Joe Barksdale
OLB- Akeem Ayers FS- Devin McCourty TE- Jermaine Gresham or Charles Clay DE- Jason Pierre Paul McCourty and JPP will be the hardest targets to get. McCourty will end up getting more money than the Patriots will want to pay. Even the franchise tag, will be more expensive than they want. JPP, will probably end up remaining with the Giants, but he could be a nice addition as a replacement for Clemons. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
It will be interesting to see who gets slapped with the franchise tag. That will certainly reduce our options.
JPP said, "I think I am worth a lot of money." Sounds like a guy who will seek top dollar and choose the highest bidder.
I'd like Clay, but has he been plagued by injury? Julius has missed some time too. When healthy, I think Clay is better fit and more affordable than Julius. I think Miami should be able to extend him though. Why can't we just go to the TE tree and get a Tony Gonzalez or Jason Witten?
Give me...
Cobb Bulaga Malcolm Smith Rahim Moore Let Cecil walk..... We instantly become a better football team. All these guys are below 27 years old as well.
Quote:Where you you play Iupati?I have a question for you, so hear me out... Our OL is atrocious. And I think you would agree that we would like to upgrade at the very least 2 positions.. So here's my question, Who is most expendable? RT is #1. What is your second choice? LT the high first rounder arguably going into year two of starting? The underachieving vet at LG? Or the two rookies at C and RG? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
If indeed JPP is tagged by the Giants, would the next option for the Jags be the signing of
Jerry Hughes of the Bills? or Jason Worilds of the Steelers? The interesting thing about Worilds is that he could man either the Otto LB position or the Leo DE position. I also think that Worilds will come with a much lower pricetag than Hughes. Then there is Brian Orakpo of the Redskins. Could Orakpo man the Leo DE position? Should there be concerns with his recurring Pec injuries? So maybe the question should be Orakpo or Worilds? Which would you choose? Thoughts? Quote:I have a question for you, so hear me out... However, there are a few caveats to my answer. 1. Beadles would seem to be very expensive to put on the bench, and cutting him after a year would have deleterious cap implications, I would think. 2. Beadles started horrifically, but actually improved a great deal over the course of the season. Nobody would mistake him for John Hannah or Larry Allen or Gene Upshaw, but he actually played pretty decently down the stretch. 3. I know this isn't necessarily a popular analysis, but there is something to be said for continuity along the OL. If Joeckel can get it together and be a good pass protector, the OL can be something good next year if we upgrade RT. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Does Cleveland place the Franchise Tag on Jordan Cameron or will they try to place the Transition Tag on him and see what it will take to sign him?
If the Browns place the Transition Tag on Jordan Cameron, will the Jags place a bid?
Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future tendencies, but usually that is all we have to base our prognostications upon.
Based upon the past performance of David Caldwell when it comes to signing Defensive Lineman, he has shied away from the big names and instead selected hidden sleepers with the exception of Chris Clemons at the Leo position. While the Jags have plenty of cap space, Dave suggested that the Jags don't need to spend it all until 2017. So instead of paying top dollar for JPP who may cost on the order of 14 to 15 Mil per season, might David continue in the ways that have succeeded so far. Take a look at Marks before he came to the Jags. He was a nobody on the Titans roster. Same is kind of true with Miller on the Bucs roster. Well, what if David looks at Adrian Clayborn - DE - Tampa - 6'3" 280 Lbs Clayborn is a former Rd 1 pick for the Bucs and has only had two seasons that he played without injury. Last year he hurt his bicep and went on IR but in 2013 the put up these numbers 2013 - 64 TT, 5.5 Sacks Clayborn will be 27 next season, which fits the Jags roster construction model. I think Clayborn makes perfect sense for the Jags as a 1st and 2nd Down Leo DE. He is very strong against the run and can put up sack numbers between 5 and 8 per year. The Jags have a young Ryan Davis and Andre Branch. Between the three players, the Jags can produce double digit sacks from the Leo position. Now I am not saying that the Jags throw Clemons to the curb, but I would not mind if he and Ryan Davis manned the Otto LB spot and picked their spots on the Dline to rush the passer in a blitz fashion. I think Clayborn could be signed on an incentive laden contract and let him prove himself. He is going to have to do this anywhere he goes whether he re-signs with the Bucs or signs elsewhere. Why not Clayborn instead of JPP? Thoughts? |
