2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?
|
It has been suggested that the Jags will enter the 2015 season with more than 60 Million in Cap Space
2015 may also be a big year for a few quality Free Agents to hit the market. Which Free Agents do you want the Jags to sign? Here is my list and why. 1. Julius Thomas - TE - Broncos - Can't block a lick but becomes the big receiving target down the center of the field. - 10 Mil/Season 2. Randal Cobb - WR - Packers - Veteran slot WR that can provide Bortles with reliable target - 8 Mil/Season 3. DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys - Veteran RB and can kickstart the ground game - 4 Mil/Season 4. Joe Barksdale - ORT - Rams - Veteran ORT and can solidify the OL - 7 Mil/Season 5. Jason Pierre Paul - DE - Giants - Veteran Leo DE to mix with Chris Clemons - 10 Mil/Season 6. Jason Worilds - OLB - Steelers - Veteran OLB to rush the passer on the SLB - 6 Mil/Season 7. Rahim Moore - FS - Broncos - Veteran FS - Centerfielder - 6 Mil/Season 51 Mil in Cap Space Thomas, Cobb, Murray and Barksdale transform the Offensive side JPP, Worilds and Moore the defensive side We show less advertisements to registered users. There has never been a team bring in that many higher priced FAs and I doubt anyone will.

Remember we have to pay our draft picks, one of which is likely to be top 3.

Quote:Remember we have to pay our draft picks, one of which is likely to be top 3. We can't get the first or second pick. The most likely possibilities are 3 if we lose and 6 if we win. But picking that high is irrelevant. The days of top five picks being paid millions of dollars more than bottom five picks are over. Quote:We can't get the first or second pick. My wish list:
WR Randall Cobb RT Bryan Bulaga TE Julius Thomas I am on the fence about RB DeMarco Murray.
Jadeveon Clowney signed a 4 year / $22.27 million contract with the Houston Texans, including a $14,518,544 signing bonus, $22,272,998 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $5,568,250.
Teddy Bridgewater signed a 4 year / $6.85 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings, including a $3,301,456 signing bonus, $5,495,479 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,712,376.

Be very, very weary of any receiving target of Peyton Manning's. They are almost never the same player when he leaves.
I'd be looking at cornerbacks. We have some good ones, but I'd like to see us bring in some more talent there.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Quote:Be very, very wary of any receiving target of Peyton Manning's. They are almost never the same player when he leaves. There is no reason for anyone to believe just because someone caught passes from Peyton Manning, he would suck with any other quarterback. If Julius Thomas can catch footballs, it does not matter who his quarterback is. Quote:If we draft Amari Cooper why would you want Cobb? Free agency begins before the draft, so we would already have Cobb. Why would you want Cooper instead of a wide receiver who can return punts? Quote:There is no reason for anyone to believe just because someone caught passes from Peyton Manning, he would suck with any other quarterback. If Julius Thomas can catch footballs, it does not matter who his quarterback is. Peyou makes alot of guys look alot better than they actually are IMO.. Eric Decker with the terrible Jets QBs is awful. Emmanuel Sanders wasn't near as productive with Big Ben as he is now (he was decent in Pitt,, but not like he is now). Peyton makes his guys produce great. Quote:Peyou makes alot of guys look alot better than they actually are IMO..the list does go on. i think thomas would be a good addition, but for the price hes going to command, id much prefer a guy like charles clay. my realistic FA wish list is rahim moore and one of either orakpo, bulaga, or JPP possibly adding worilds as well. seems reasonable.

Many of the free agents will re-sign with their current teams or get tagged, so hard to say who will actually be available.
Quote:Peyton makes alot of guys look alot better than they actually are IMO.. The Jets are unable to settle on a quarterback. Geno Smith gets benched. Then Michael Vick gets benched. So Eric Decker has the rare issue of catching right-handed passes one week, then left-handed passes the next. That is not an easy thing for a wide receiver to do. Are you sure Emmanuel Sanders only benefited from having Peyton Manning and the offensive scheme or coaching had nothing to do with it? The only way to know there are no other reasons for improvement as a Bronco is see him catch passes from Brock Osweiler. I have only seen Osweiler play at the end of a blowout against the 49ers this season, not with the starting wide receivers.

Bryon Maxwell-Guy has been good for "The Legion of Boom" and might be one of the more expensive guys on this list but the guy is typical Seattle corner and would be a great addition to our Defensive Backs

Tashaun Gipson-Will be the hardest guy to get out of all of these free agents because he is an RFA, if we do get him though the guy is a ballhawk had 6 INTs and 8 PDAs in just 11 games this year before spraining his MCL. Would be great with Cyp in the back end of the secondary and well he plays good in Jax(had 2 picks)

Dan Skuta-Should not be expensive but would be a great backup linebacker for our young starters

Kelvin Sheppard-Has bounced around the league in his young career but was a solid linebacker in Buffalo and it didnt workout in Indy but is having a decent year as a backup with the Phins

Brandon Tate-The answer to our return problems is this guy,was a beast on special teams with NE and now is at Cincy and while Pacman mainly does the returning now this guy is still good and is not a bad #4 WR

Louis Delmas-Went to Miami this year and was having an above average year starting for them but tore his acl a couple weeks ago but could be a cheap back up to cyp whom would add starting experience and a veteran presence to the back end of the secondary

Terrance Cody-The guy is BIG and is a upgrade over Arby Jones at NT and wold be a good backup for Roy Miller as a rotational run stopper

King Dunlap-Having a pretty good year out in SD, has been in the league for 5 years now and would be an upgrade over Pazstor and Young

Virgil Green-Because Clay Harbor cant block and Green is a really good blocker he would be a cheap pickup that would provide the team with depth and help in run support

Davin Joseph-Our O-Line sucks and while Joseph is past his prime he can be a solid backup Guard with his starting experience and can still be used in spot duty |
