From a statistical standpoint, Cutler had the best year of his career under Trestman.

Please...Cutler is a coach killer. He goes through them like chewing gum...head coaches, offensive coordinators, QB coaches, etc. Whererver Cutler goes, coaches get fired.

I'm not big on Trestman, but don't pin Cutler on him.

Cutler only does what Cutler wants to do.

Because Cutler is an arrogant moron.  That's why Denver dumped him when he was pegged to be their franchise QB.

Quote:He's getting pull from TB and us. Has a relationship with Lovie as well and recall him being linked to there prior to us. Could come down to Qb preference
Mariota and Evans would be pretty enticing though I just saw TB plans to interview Mornhinweg.  I think we need to move pretty quick if we want Trestman.

people act like Cutler was REAALLLLYYY BAAAAAAD this past season but if Bortles had his numbers, we'd be dancing all night long.

There's no doubting Cutler's ability.  He just can't be "coached up" to win because he's a moron. Trestman would get the most out of Blake because Blake wants to be coached up.

Quote:trestman isn't getting another HC job in probably the next 3-5 years after what happened in Chicago.  the only way he gets another HC job is if Bortles becomes a top 5 QB.  if that happens, we won.  who cares if he leaves after that?

iono man i feel like the dude gonna be able to use the "i got smokin' jay cutler and brandon 'mental health' marshall what did u think was gonna happen' if anything

i def see what you saying tho mane appreciate the discussion

Quote:He wasn't the OC there first off. Spreading a guy like that too thin and everything is going to suffer. He's not a good HC but doesn't mean it can't succeed as an OC here.

If I'm not mistaken, he called the plays though.

He did but it's completely different when you have so many responsibilities.  Just imagine being really good at one thing at your job and that's all you have to do.  Now they give you a ton more responsibilities and you're getting stretched every which way.  I think it would be perfectly reasonable for that one thing to suffer now that you have to do so much else.

Unfortunately he becomes the fall guy regardless. It was his scheme, his game plan, his playcalling that failed. Had he been successful he would've received all of the credit, since he failed he gets the bulk of the blame.

YES!!! Let's bring the king of the horizontal offense here. If you thought Fisch liked short passes, wait until you see Trestman. Wallbash
