Alabama, Oregon, Florida State Win Out, Who Goes To Title Game?

#21

Quote:You guys are all forgetting something. If Ohio State wins out, which I fully expect after watching them score 9 touchdowns against a Big Ten team that won four games, shouldn't they also deserve to be in the national championship game?

If a team's strength of schedule is one factor in the BCS forumula, I can see why Alabama and Oregon are the favorites. However, I think if the Buckeyes were eligible last year, they would have been in the national championship game because Alabama had a loss. So I hope Alabama, Oregon, or FSU will lose at least once becaise it seems voters and computers don't want to put a Big Ten team in the BCS title game.

Deserve to based on being undefeated in a BCS conference after starting the season in the top 5? Yes. Deserve to over a team that also went undefeated in a BCS conference, started in the top 5, and has had more difficult opponents (Oregon)? No.

Quote:I think Oregon would beat FSU in a close game, but would still get whooped by Alabama.

There's no way Oregon would beat FSU nor Alabama, those 2 teams would shut Oregon down.

The spread offense plays into FSU strength, our DB's ,LB's... Our Team speed, you wouldn't be able to find a faster team in the country than us.

FSU /Alabama teams our mirror images of each other. I think Stanford will beat Oregon, when Oregon travel to play them...making this a moot point.
We doing it BIG....Florida State bringing that SWAG back in 2013!!!!

yes, there is a way Oregon would beat FSU... by scoring more points.

FSU a mirror image of Bama? are you kidding?

did FSU win back to back championships recently?

yes, FSU is playing good football. but so far their only quality opponent has been Clemson. lets not go all tomahawk chop crazy and declare FSU the ACC version of Bama after a good half season against mostly mediocre/bad teams.

Maybe....it stinks having to depend on others to beat a good team like Oregon.....I am no where near a FSU fan, but I hate seeing a team possibly getting screwed by a broken system.

We play the same multiple defense as Bama...Duh!!!!

Alabama's ex DB's coach for the last few years is Florida States new Defensive Coordinator---Jeremy Pruitt.

Jimbo Fisher use to be the Offensive Coord. under Nick Saban

Our team speed on offense and defense is comparable to Bama....They're # 1 in the country...we're # 2.  If the NC game was today,  Vegas would have a hard time with a favorite..it could go either way.

A& M shredded the Alabama defense......FSU is light years better than A&M.

Bama has always had some difficulty with mobile QBs.  Winston is athletic enough but he isnt a runner.  I think Bama will be able to play FSU a little stronger.

Playing the same multiple defense means fairly little and Pruitt being Saban's ex-DB coach means nothing when it's Saban's defense and he coaches the DBs himself.

I think we need to consider who they might play against in the conference championships.

FSU: Miami

Oregon: UCLA

Alabama: Missouri

If the conference championships were today, that probably is what the matchups would be. If all three teams win out and play in those games, who has the best chance of losing the CCG?

Ok..i call it here first.  If all three teams win out, the NC game will feature FSU and Alabama.  On merit, it looks like Oregon should be ahead over FSU, but there's no way the NCAA would pass up the opportunity to feature probably the highest rating NC game in years.

Alabama going for the three-peat vs an uprising FSU with a superstar player in Winston.  No way the NCAA would pass up on that!

Light years?  Ok, buddy.  They shuold really just give FSU the trophy now.  Why play the games?  FSU is clearly the best team of all time.  I mean, did you see their game against Bethune Cookman?  Wow!

Quote:Yet they smacked a full-strength Georgia in the mouth. Maybe the SEC isn't as strong as you'd like to believe it is, this year.

For what it's worth, it has got to be Alabama and Oregon. I've been waiting for that match-up for three years. However, sitting here and discrediting FSU is moronic. FSU has done nothing but take care of business. They are 3rd in the country if points for and 3rd in the country in points against.

Does an undefeated Ohio St. play in the NC game over an Alabama or Oregon team that loses it's conference title game?

Smacked? Georgia missed a field goal during the game which would've made it a tied game at the end. Georgia has fallen off now. I agree they beat them at their best and that counts for something. Clemson can really help the ACC rep with a win against South Carolina.

I really think it is so close right now you can name Oregon FSU or Alabama 1,2,3 in any order that I wouldn't argue with your statement. Oregon and FSU is praying the other loses at this point. But I hope the teams are more focused on who their playing this week. How many times have we seen these top 5 undefeated teams slip up and lose. Can't allow this because that will allow Ohio State in.

One thing I find odd is everyone is talking about Oregon losing, but Alabama still has to beat LSU.  Obviously Alabama will be favored, but that isn't a gimme game and LSU has played bama well the last couple of years.

I'd laugh and walk away from anyone that put Alabama #3 right now.
