The rumor has been floating around for a while now. Surprised it took this long.
Makes sense Raiders fans want a tough, defensive minded Head Coach with experince.    Jack Del Rio is all of that, and with Mike Smith out of a job he could be his DC again (should he chose to take the step down)?

It also doesnt hurt that he was the HC of Broncos while HC Fox was healing, and that the Broncos finished 3rd overall in Defense this year when in the past they were towards the bottom...

Takes him back to California as well.

Could be a good fit.  Certainly won't be long before he gets a shot again somewhere.  As we've seen now, the mess wasn't entirely his while he was here.  Shack struck out with all his first rounders, and Smith spoiled everything he touched.  Yet he won ballgames and got to the playoffs twice with pedestrian QBs and garbage WRs for the most part (Jimmy missed time while he was still on the roster for suspension.)

True, he had a poor GM thus talent was skim pickings yet he found a way to win.

Maybe he'll be even better as the new Raiders HC.
