Question about Gabbert
|
Quote:Yes there were extenuating circumstances, but even without them, he would have been terrible. E.J. Manuel would win a battle for the starting job if the Bills somehow get Blaine Gabbert.I'm not so sure. Did you see the Bills/Houston game? It was brutal to watch. EJ nearly got one of our receivers (Goodwin) killed with a high throw. He was out for a game or so after that. Our WRs basically stopped playing the last quarter and were giving him the death stare. After that game, Orton started the next week. I honestly haven't seen enough of Gabbert to know who's worse. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Manuel isnt what i thought he would be but he is still way better than gabbert. Gabbert is in all time bust territory at the QB position and thats not a joke.
Best way to explain this; Gabbert is like an episode of the Walking Dead. First few moments wow you, then the next 56 minutes frustrate you and make you, a grown adult, yell at your tv screen, and then, just when you think youre done forever, something happens in the last few seconds that make you tune in next week, even though you know it's the same sad cycle all over again.

Worst player in NFL history. You all tried your best to describe how bad Goobert really is, but his ineptitude is indescribable. I cry myself to sleep at night when I have flashbacks of Goobert curling into the fetal position in the pocket.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED! Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!
Quote:So you think Gabbert is better than Manuel? On the practice field Gabbert was amazing. He'd beat Bortles in just practice
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
Quote:So you think Gabbert is better than Manuel? Double post
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
I blocked those three yrs out of my memory. Don't recall him ever being on the team.

If he has time to throw he is a top 5 QB. if the line cant block he is not that good.
Quote:If he has time to throw he is a top 5 QB. if the line cant block he is not that good. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Needed that one. Thanks Quote:If he has time to throw he is a top 5 QB. if the line cant block he is not that good. Clearly a typo here. He surely meant to put a zero after the five. Gabbert could have all day and he'd still suck.

Do you remember the part in the movie The Waterboy when Adam Sandler is playing linebacker and the quarterback across from him is about to crap his pants? Well that is Blame Gabbert. You guys would be better spending your 1st round pick on a ham sandwich.
His untapped potential is through the roof. Just needs a good stable organization with a solid offensive staff. Buffalo is the perfect situation for him. All-pro in 3 years max.
Quote:Sort of what I thought. I was just wondering if there were some extenuating circumstances. I guess I should be worried the Bills are thinking of bringing Gabbert in to compete with Manuel. You better hope they don't, Gabby is a preseason warrior, there is a chance he could con your team into a starting spot, and then you have to put up with him during the season. As bad as Manuel might be, you don't want Gabbert at the helm. Quote:Sort of what I thought. I was just wondering if there were some extenuating circumstances. I guess I should be worried the Bills are thinking of bringing Gabbert in to compete with Manuel.Perhaps no quarterback in the history of the sport has more extenuating circumstances than Gabbert. He went from third on the depth chart to starter with no warning (and those who whine about how he's the worst QB the team has ever had really need to reacquaint themselves with the play of Luke McCown before Gabbert started). He effectively played without an offensive line. He had a new offensive system at every opportunity, and some of the training he was given either gave him or reinforced in him terrible habits. His receivers couldn't catch a ball if you nailed it to their hands, and (partly as a result) the running game was pretty much non-existent. You couldn't step into a worse situation, and it didn't improve during his tenure. Mix that with the fact that he does, indeed, seem to have had a natural flair for being terrible, and you have the full story. Ignore the fools who claim he was a 'preseason warrior'. Gabbert was no better in the preseason than the regular season - he won and kept his starting position by having a truly special set of other quarterbacks on the team with him. Gabbert is similar to Brady, except he throws too many interceptions, has a much lower completion percentage, is scared to stand in the pocket, has jittery feet, fumbles when he's tackled, is a poor team leader, can't learn the offense, gets confused by the defense, doesn't handle blitzes very well, isn't respected by his teammates, has a weak arm, doesn't learn from his mistakes, has bad breath and doesn't bathe often.
Otherwise, they're carbon copies of each other. Quote:I know Gabbert had a rough going in Jacksonville, but there's some thought among the Bills fans that he might be a QB we look at this coming season. The reason for this is our new OC Greg Roman worked with Gabbert in San Fran and apparently thinks highly of him. Decent physical skills but doesn't have the instincts to be a QB. Fairly tough physically but paradoxically shies away from contact to the point of playing scared at times. He can make throws that make you think he could be a good player but that's just fool's gold. My advice would be to hope the Bill's go in a different direction.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.
