But dont let facts/stats get in the way of saying how bad he was. He has terrible pocket awarness and is scared of getting hit. Nothing he does that is good will compensate for that.

 

there is nothing factual about those statistics.  Those statistics came straight from Tony Khan.  Ya, if you take away every bad throw he made and include only the good throws he made, he's top 3.

Apparently Gabbert will never have enough time in the pocket to be effective, so it's okay to move on.  When they start using calendars to track his time in the pocket, maybe he'll be that top 3 QB you go to bed dreaming about.

His athleticism is not really very good.  He doesn't move laterally very well at all.  So that attribute should be crossed off the list of things he's so great at.

 

Smart?  Ok, he's great at math tests.  That has nothing to do with football.  He clearly struggled at reading defenses.

 

Literally the only thing that was above average on him was arm strength, which is incredibly overrated.  It's pointless if you suck at everything else.

That's the wrong question.  The question should be "is he a good NFL QB"?  The answer would be, "no".  That doesn't mean I have to say he had no athletic ability or didn't have some attributes that should have made him a decent player.  That's why he was considered a good prospect coming out of college.

Not just the Jags.  I think he lacks the instincts and mental fortitude to play QB at the NFL level.  However, that doesn't also mean he had a spaghetti arm and no athletic ability.
