2015 Free Agents - Who Do You Want?

Orlando Franklin was the 46th selection in Rd 2 of the 2011 Draft for the Denver Broncos.

Mean and tough. Can play OG or OT.

This is the guy we target in Free Agency.

Clint Boling is an alternate option. Maybe even cheaper than Franklin but he's a swing lineman with starting experience.

He played LG for Cincinnati and transitioned to RT later on in the season to fill in for injuries to Eric Winston (Andre Smith?), if I'm not mistaken. He's also around 25-26 years of age with upside.

At this point it looks to me that there is a greater likelihood of Orlando Franklin hitting Free Agency than Bulaga or Boling.

I think there is a good chance that they blowup the Denver Broncos rather than continue to push for another Super Bowl with a Peyton Manning that looks done.

So the question arises, will the Broncos spend the big bucks to re-sign all of its players or will they jettison Peyton and begin to trade players for draft picks in an attempt to rebuild a younger and cheaper roster?

If so, will both Julius Thomas (TE) and Orlando Franklin (ORT) be available in Free Agency?

If Demaryius Thomas (WR) becomes available in Free Agency should the Jags make a run at signing him too?

Thoughts?

There has been a lot of talk about obtaining a RB to help out the Jags running game.

No doubt this draft class is heavy at RB, but there may be another option in Free Agency no one has considered.

What about signing Knowshon Moreno - 5'11" 218 lbs - 28 yrs old to a 1 year PROVE IT Contract

Last year was full of injuries with the Dolphins but in 2013, his last year with the Broncos he had

1038 Yds on 241 Carries with 10 Rushing TDs

60 Recs - 548 Yds with 3 Receiving TDs

Last year he played for 3 Mil, if his knee checks out then offer him 1.5 Mil with incentives to double that amount.

If Rick Dennison becomes the OC, then his familiarity with Moreno could make this arrangement work for all parties.

Thoughts?

A 28 year old RB with knee and other wear and tear injuries throughout his career? I'll pass.

This. A RB upgrade, if one is coming, will come from a younger back with fewer miles, whether that's in FA or the draft.

I really like Perrish Cox of the 49ers if the Jags decide to take a CB in Free Agency.

Just re-watched Pakers vs Cowboys last weekend. Watched Bulaga on every play. Dude is really strong and a great run blocker.

DeMarcus Ware thinks Peyton Manning will return next season. The Broncos want to keep both Thomases if they can. It is not going to be a total rebuild.

Demaryus Thomas was never going anywhere and Julius Thomas is better with Peyton throwing to him than without. So both of these players have been discounted my most people as two players that either won't be available (DT) or are not worth the money they think they are worth to sign (JT).

Another way to see how important he is to the offense: re-watch the Seahawks game, where the right side of the line suffered after Bryan Bulaga got hurt. I read in a championship preview article a big reason Green Bay lost in Week 1 was his first quarter injury. Without Bulaga, pressure came from the right side of the line, including on the strip sack for a safety. The Cowboys game easily could have been a loss if Bulaga had not played.

Teal Curtain,

So if the Packers want Bulaga back and they have the money to sign him, why would not Bulaga re-sign with the Packers?

Short Answer: HE WILL!

JT may not be a good blocker, but he sure knows how to catch a football. Do you know any free agent tight ends who are great blockers and pass catchers?

What if the Packers don't have the money to sign him? I know they don't have as much money as we do, so we would win the bidding war.

As far as Julius Thomas is concerned, the general feeling is that once he is separated from Peyton Manning, he will not be the Premium TE that he appears to be with Peyton Manning. You don't overpay players like Julius Thomas. Just look at what happened with Mike Wallace and the Dolphins. The Dolphins overpaid a WR that without Rothlisberger just was not the same player.

Regarding Bulaga, anything is possible, but usually when a team wants a player and a player enjoys being with the team, then two sides make a deal and that is what I see as happening with Bulaga and the Packers.

If you want to hold onto to hope that Bulaga hits Free Agency, then God Bless you, you go ahead and do that.

I truly believe that Orlando Franklin will end up being the Best Available OT that hits Free Agency.

I think he hits Free Agency, because the Broncos will choose DeMaryus Thomas and Julius Thomas over Franklin.

Franklin was switched from ORT to OLG. Franklin played OLT for Miami in college.

I don't think Franklin is as good as Ereck Flowers, but I think he is good enough to be an upgrade and help the Jags run game at ORT.

Topic is who do I WANT. I WANT Bulaga. If he gets resigned then I will adjust who I WANT. Until then............
