Pot Roast had a little taste of success and got comfortable. Simple as that.

Apparently success wasn't all he was tasting.

Quote:Fined 300K for being overweight.  His weight just as much a problem in Denver as it was here.  Anyone care to guess how much he actually weighs...
If the man is playing at an extremely high level at 380lbs why does it matter?

I literally LOLed. Name one other big DT that has elite talent but bounced around the league because of weight issues. Vince Wilfork is a fatty but has played on the same team for a decade now.

Knighton is just a guy. He has shown flashes, but the only thing he's ever been consistent in is showing up overweight. They don't fine you 300 grand on your first few occasions.

Stud player. That was a good one.

You're right, when he was in Jax and the past couple years in Denver he's been average.

Do you not get that him being overweight slows him down?  It also kept him out of a lot of plays while he was in Jax.  He would get tired really easily.  If you lose some weight and get in shape, none of that happens.

Your arguement really makes no sense.  You only have to watch him to play to see that he's not your average defensive tackle.

Do you not get that "stud" players don't allow themselves to get fat and out of shape. If he was a great player he would take better care of his body because that's how he makes his money. An above average guy is all I'm seeing with him.

Exactly....that was kind of my point that he wasn't the stud player he could be because of his weight issues.  I said earlier if he could keep his weight down he would be quicker and be able to actually last in a game.  He's holding himself back from being the player he should be.   As big as he is and teams know they will have issues with him and his weight, there will always be someone out there that wants to deal with it until he cant play at that level.  Until they get fed up thinking they can change him, which has happened in Jax and Denver.

There are many great (hall of fame players) that did not take care of their bodies.

^^ And yet these hall of famers who did not take care of their bodies became hall of famers, so yea they must have been 'studs'. So maybe there is more than just his weight that is holding him back from being a stud. Perhaps maybe even possessing stud talent???

You're argument: if Knighton wasn't fat, he would be a better player, maybe one of the best.

My argument: Knighton has always been too fat, and is therefore not a "stud" DT, as you suggest.

No doubt. JDR and his players tend to be loyal to each other.

"His" players but not all his players. Especially Pashos.

If he could keep his weight down he could be a top DT, but unfortunately he can't keep his weight down therefore he is not a top DT.

You are what you are.

He is an overweight player that gets you a marginal return on the field. He hasn't shown any reason over the course of his career to expect that to change.

He is an overpaid backup rotational guy that is good for a couple of plays per series at best and not only does Denver no longer want him, they decided he owed them some money back for his under achievement.

JDR planning on forming Jacksonville west I see.

It could be a combination of Jacksonville west and Denver west.

The other question is will Greg Olson influence Jacksonville becoming somewhat Oakland east?

I wonder if he will be guaranteeing any Super Bowl victories if he does sign with the Raiders.

It would have to be money to go from the best team in the division to the worst.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

I doubt it. The model has been Seattle south since the day Bradwell took over. No reason to change that now as we are approaching 1-2 years from completion.

While Pot Roast might delude himself into thinking it's more about winning than money,   there's no question that most people,  including us,  will beliieve that money was the # 1 factor if he signs with the Raiders.

Another possibility for Pot Roast to land would be with John Fox and the Bears.
