Quote:J-Mizzal seems to have high hopes for him.
I said he will be solid as a rookie because he's a polished player, I never said he was a pro bowler, and said I would take him in the 4th but not take him off the board like JW was saying

He's a 10-12 year player, good blocker good hands good route runner, i'll take those kinda guys in the mid rounds any day of the week

I'm an FSU fan but O'Leary isn't going to come in and upgrade our TE position.  Lewis is the far superior player in every regard.  Harbor is a superior athlete and receiver.

He would actually excel here

Quote:I agree he's an average TE but it's not because he ran a 4.93 40 today.

It is not just because of that, but the slow 40 time obviously will factor into when he gets drafted. Someone who is just average in every way needs a fast time in the 40 yard dash to help himself. Right now we need one of the best tight ends and can't settle for one who is OK at everything but excels at nothing. A slow 40 yard dash time was the clincher for me, not the only reason I want to stay away from him, because I already knew he is overrated and several better tight ends are available.

@RosterWatch: 5. Leonard Williams is a better prospect than Clowney. Congrats, #Jaguars fans.

Moving on to the second day of interviews and drills. Today the rest of the offense - quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers - take their turns to show and tell. Of course, Todd Gurley can't do much because of his torn ACL, so Melvin Gordon is the must-see running back for anyone who thinks trading up from #36 is a good idea. But the lesser-known running backs who will be drafted later should get more of our attention because Gurley and Gordon are both projected as late first round picks. I am only interested in what teams might trade up for Mariota and whether trading up may not be necessary for a team that likes him. Regarding wide receivers, I am more interested in guys who are unlikely to be picked in the first round because we have no reason to pick Amari Cooper at #3 if he is available.

Jadaveon Clowney is a freak athlete who could become one of the best defensive ends in NFL history if he did not have a problem inside his head.

Leonard Williams never gave anyone cause for concern about his work ethic, love for football, and toughness. He has the competitive attitude to match his freakish size and abilities.

And what wouldn't a Raiders fan give to pick him in the draft !

Sammie Coats with a 4.45 40. Not too shabby.

Amari Cooper clocked in a 4.43. That kid is fast.

Amari Cooper really helped himself with that 4.43.  The knock was that he wasn't that fast and I think most expected a 4.5 out of him.  Probably solidified himself as the #1 receiver and top 5 or 6 picks.

DGB super impressive with a 4.5 at that size.  Would be very interesting as a move TE as well.

^thats just nasty. Seriously, someone's gonna take a chance on him in round 1. Watch it be the Seahawks Sad

Dorsett ran unofficial 4.35.  but he didnt get a great start.  chris johnson is probably safe.

First time I've seen Rashad Greene without a helmet.  Looks like he could be a terrorist.

Coates looks great, but I have concerns about his offensive system in college.  He was schemed to always get inside releases and didn't run a lot of different routes - mostly just seams, curls, and comebacks.  I want to see him have to battle a corner off the line.

Coates from a physical standpoint shouldn't have a problem with bullying most CB 's off the line. That guy is a specimen.

Chris Conley is way faster than I thought he was. 4.35 is a ridiculious time.
