There are a lot of Gators playing at a high level in the NFL. The list can also include names like Cam Newton, Janoris Jenkins, and Aaron Hernandez if you want to list him too.

Quote:My top 5 in order are: Williams, Gregory, Beasley, Shelton, White. with Fowler sitting pretty at 6.

I am not sure how they grade out against other schools. I am going by the drafts in the past few years, watching less and less gators being drafted high or at all.

You do not see many Florida Gator Alumni as Starters in the NFL anymore.

Yeah to bad he was never to crack the line up when Jarret Dillard was here..

Quit. Talking. Crap.

You can't make such statements UNLESS you have empirical evidence supporting it.

Just in the past 5 years like you said, I find shariff floyd, Matt Elam, John Bostic, Jordan Reed, Mike pouncey, Marcus Gilbert, maurkice pouncey, joe haden, aaron Hernandez, Carlos Dunlap, Brandon Spikes, Riley Cooper.

Some there listed are pro bowlers, others average starters, some disappointing.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

There are like 15-20 Gators who've entered the NFL in the last 5 years that started games last season... Which I'm guessing would probably place them in the top 10 or higher in that category.

Okay for the names listed im sure you can easily make up a list of failed players as well...its not so hard. I highlighted the players that are actually worthwhile on your list.

Riley Cooper is a slot receiver at best. He is Just another guy. Marcus Gilbert ill hold out on him yet, Jordan Reed is productive yet can't stay healthy. Brandon Spikes got the benefit of working with one of the best Coaches in Bill Bellichick hes mediocre as a starter. I will honestly say ive never heard of John Bostic, and I know a lot of football..

Maybe you should learn more. Bostic started for the Bears.

So go back to your original statement about fowler and the gators.

What in the world was your point?

Wait....did somebody say Danny Shelton in the 3rd..? Like seriously?

Shelton is a top 5 player in this draft. He may not get drafted that high, but he is arguably the best player at his position in the draft. Dude is sick.

Sorry I have not devoted my life to know all the starters of every other team, I believe I know a fair amount more than the average fan.

People are allowed to not know everyone its not against the law..

No need to apologize. Just maybe do a little more research before clinging to your argument. Florida has produced quality players on par with any other top football program.

And Percy Harvin, who played well at Minnesota and Seattle.

By looking at this list, I see no way you can make a blanket statement about former Gators in the NFL.

No, we are only talking about Gators who played for the Jags.

If that's the case maybe its foolish to make sweeping generalizations about dozens of players based on the university they attended.

All I was trying to say is I don't want us to draft Fowler because he doesn't IMO look like a NFL football player.

He is slow off the snap and reminds me of Harvey in that way, So Pass on him.

Speaking of former Gators, how are the other guys doing? D.J. Humphries, Matt Jones, and several other guys are there too; Dante Fowler is just the one getting the most attention. I counted eight Gators who got combine invitations. Half of them are juniors.

If you really think that you never saw him play.

If you visited the site someone so graciously posted up there to Yahoo sports showing you the Gators active players.

Some names you'll recognize, most you will scratch your head and say Who?

The players Jville posted were the ones actually relevant, mostly.

Yes Danny was one of the most impressive players of the whole combine. I would not care if he went #3

That's fine if you feel that way. I don't see what you see though.

But you must look at those names compared to other schools.

Every single school, even the alabamas and LSUs, will have names that you can't recognize.

You had no point.. It was a completely irrational statement, like I said earlier.
