Quote:Why leave a championship caliber team for a team within a rebuild? It would be great for McCourty to test the waters and get pulled here. But I don't see it. If the Pats and him had bad blood, I'd say we had a shot. But there's nothing pointing to that.

GO JAGS!!

That's one way to look at it. The other way to look at it is that he already won that ring. Perhaps now, its time to get paid. Really paid.

Patriots placed their tag on K Gostkowski.

Good news for McCourty and the Jags.

I agree. But wouldn't the Pats provide that as well? We might have a shot, but we'll have to overpay. Which right now, I think we could afford to do that. But do we want to? Or better yet, does Caldwell? With overpaying for Beadles, we might just do it. Seeing how he just reached FA by the Pats not tagging him, he's a maybe. I still think he and the Pats are trying to establish something. We'll see. Here's hoping!

Either the Pats know something we don't or they're just stupid.

The Pats still have to sign Revis, it's very unlikely they are able to sign both as somebody will be wiling to pay substantially more than 7-8 mil a year.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

It probably has more to do with Revis than anything. Maybe contract negotiations are stalling and they'll have to pick up his huge option?

Transition tag placed on Charles Clay. He would've been a great consolation prize if we were unable to sign Julius or even Jordan Cameron.

He still could be for a team with gobs of cap space willing to front load a contract.

Could be another repeat of the Alex Mack situation last year. Just a big surprise he got transition tagged. Definitely did not see that one coming.

The difference though is that Miami doesn't have the cap space the browns had last year. They have around 15 mill I believe. If a team is willing to sign him to say a 5 year/40 million contract with 15 million upfront Miami will probably let him go.

McCourty or Suh would bring this defense up another level big time. If they somehow managed to sign Suh and McCourty....... The league would be put on notice!

Yes I'm counting down the days! Normally I think I would always be disappointed in free agency, but based on last year with signing Clemons, Bryant, Hood, and the amount of available space we have this year, it's just a different feeling!

March 7th is when the negotiating period begins, so deals will be agreed to in principle before the 10th.

That's true. Still too far away though; especially with the rumors and our need for some excitement haha. The 10th or later is when it's final though. There's too much time between now and the 7th for the current teams to talk in their ears..... Am I mistaken? The current teams can talk with them throughout this time right? Or does all talks now stop until the 7th?
