***Official Franchise Tag Thread***

#1
(This post was last modified: 03-02-2015, 06:35 PM by KYjaggy.)

Franchise tag deadline is today at 4 PM ET.

Seems much better to have one topic where we all discuss this instead of starting half a dozen or more different threads today to discuss each one.

So far it looks like Dez, Demaryius, Houston, McCourty, and JPP are locks...stay tuned for any other potential guys such as Suh or Hughes.

@RapSheet: Officially: Dez Bryant, Justin Houston, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Demaryius Thomas have been franchise tagged, sources say.

Finally someone agrees with me one thread is better than a lot of threads on the same topic. But I am surprised to see the word official here.

It's old news, but the Cowboys are going to tag Dez Bryant.

KC is tagging Houston

Detroit is not going to tag Suh.

Both per 1010XL about a minute ago.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

It would've cost Detroit $27M to tag Suh, it was obvious he was hitting the market a long time ago. I'm hoping he'll be a Jaguar on March 10th, would love to see Suh punishing QB's of the AFC South, especially the media darling in Indianapolis.

Suh not being tagged. Surely we have to aggressively go for him

I don't know why I was holding on to the pipe dream of Houston slipping between the cracks in Kansas City. Oh well, a guy can dream can't he?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Well, there IS still a week to go until free agency.

While that was a huge step in signing a guy like him, there is still time for Detroit to sign him.

Haha yea, there was no way that guy was hitting the market, although I was holding out hope as well.

If Detroit signs him they'd have roughly 40% of their cap space tied up in 3 players, you don't have to be a capologist to understand that's not a practical way of allocating cap space, I'd be shocked if they resigned him, there's no way Suh and his agent will agree to a deal with Detroit before testing the FA waters.

Wow, I didn't expect that, McCourty would have to be the Jaguars #1 option if the Patriots let him walk. It's a realistic scenario considering the amount of money both Revis and McCourty will demand.
