Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (race for the #1 overall pick)

Quote:Alex Smith says hi.

You mean Andy Reid says hi...

still can't believe we didn't even make an overture when Reid became available....smh....

I mean, there literally wasn't a better option available.

Its stuff like that which makes me question how serious Khan is regarding building a winner in Jax,

Alex Smith is a game manager and not the reason for the big upswing in KC's success. Glennon could do the same things as Smith, and Tampa has the defensive pieces in place to be very good. They are a coach away.

But they didn't have Glennon.  They needed a QB.  Doesn't matter who it is if he's capable.  They didn't have one that could get it done.

Smith is nothing special -  but he's obviously part of the equation to their turnaround.  Reid's a good coach - but they needed a QB badly as well.  Reid gets more credit- sure - but they weren't "just a coach away" IMO.  They needed a QB too.

Kansas City actually has TALENT to talk about. Tampa Bay does not.

Tampa has some of the best defensive backs in football being misused by Schiano's scheme. Doug Martin is also good, and Glennon could be groomed in to a game manager. They are a coaching change away from being mediocre rather than awful.

I'm confused.  Is a coach going to make them mediocre or very good?

Depends on the coach. Either way, Schiano is whats keeping them winless.

I'm confused.

Does that mean Schiano kept them winless last year?

Does that mean that Coughlin kept the Giants winless through 6 games (7 if you count the gift from Minnesota) this year?

If you can't believe that you were hiding under a rock in January. We did not have a GM yet and Shad Khan's plan was to let the new GM hire the new HC. By the time he hired David Caldwell, Andy Reid was already in Kansas City.

If Alex Smith is no more than a game manager, why are the Chiefs still undefeated? Game managers find ways to lose. I don't think he is a great quarterback, of course, but he is much better than who wears #11 in Jacksonville.

The Chiefs had a good team but suffered from terribad QB play last year

Quote:"Let me show you what we are accustomed to..." (A Raiders of the Lost Ark quote for the uninitiated)

Last in scoring offense with 86 points....14 points LESS THAN your Bucs when we have played one more game.

29th in rushing offense-five spots worse than your Bucs with one more game.

Last in total defense having allowed 264 points in 8 games...18 spots and 101 points more than your Bucs.

Last in rushing defense 26 spots lower than your wanna be bad Bucs.

18th in pass defense-compared to 11th overall ranking.

29th in sacks with 11-six sacks and 7 spots lower than your Bucs having played one more game.

Last in the league with 3 defensive INTs, 11 spots and half as many INTs are your Bucs-having played 1 more game.

A  minus 178 point differential after EIGHT GAMES, ranking DAL.  Your Bucs?  Minus 63 point differential after seven, ranking 29th.  Unless you guys manage to lose by 115 points, you won't catch us.

Seattle?!?  Pfffft.  Lost to them by over 20 already.

"You don't know what pain is!!!!!"

"Do you really think you stand a chance against us, Mr. Cowboy Buccaneer?"
A (not so) wise coach once said. "STATS ARE FOR LOSERS!"

YOU don't know what pain is! You weren't there when we lost in 2005 and 07! When we cut Brooks unceremoniously and made Ronde barber ashsamed. WE diverse our choice of QB, and you do too....AFTER you wait in line behind our MRSA covered [BAD WORD REMOVED], Jaggy! Big Grin

Then I guess our methods need fixin.

We lost out on one of the better head coaches over rigidity....and look where we're at now...

Yeah, we were real smart to stick to "the plan".... Rolleyes

Dude your team is loaded with talent, you just lack a QB and have a dunce for a coach. Dominik put together a very strong roster and with Mariota next year you guys could be pretty good.

The D has begun to quit.

As for Dom, he  has drafted badly nearly every year other than 2012 for the most of the draft. Mccoy is the bright spot. No one is left from 2009.

Similar story in Jacksonville. All of our 2009 draft picks are gone now.
