FB Bradie Ewing cut, no fullbacks on roster now

#61

Quote:OHalloran:  You have no FB on the roster right now.

Bradley:  Right now we're looking at Tight Ends.....

O'Halloran: So you could have 4 active tight ends?

Bradley: We could.  If we find a FB that is able to do the things we are going to ask of him, we'll always be open to it.

O'Halloran: This doesn't affect Toby, he's still a tailback?

Bradley: Yeah.  paraphrase - This is a year that we want to see him capitalize on being comfortable in his second year and showcase his talent.

Oehser: Any H-Back for him?

Bradley: Ummmm.  No, not H-Back where he's "displaced out."

So there you have it.  Way too much being made of this Gerhart to FB talk.

Quote:Everyone likes to pencil Toby in at FB, but does anyone honestly know if he could block as such? Serious question. I know he is a white RB and is kinda slow, but those qualities alone does not make a fullback.

Greg Jones and Daimon Shelton may be wondering what the heck you are talking about.

Just looking at the Gus interview, agreed, he is clear that Toby is not going to FB.

I like the idea of, switching Toby Gerhart to FB. Lets face it he's not very fast although strong. I am still in favor of using him at RB just not as an every down back. Denard Robinson can now become the starter while they  bring someone else in through the draft. Maybe they find the next Mojo in this years draft?

And Ewing retires:
