Allen Robinson breakout looming
|
Call him whatever you want, but I think Robinson has the tools to be a top 15 WR in the league. I think he has a Herman Moore ceiling and that would bode really well for the Jaguars, whether he is a "1" or "2".

The Jaguars with the 3rd overall pick draft WR Amari Cooper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3X3h8p-_Xo White is good but he's no Cooper Quote:Except it's the exact opposite now. Jamming the receiver is the en vogue way to try to stop a #1. The reason the small guys can't be true #1's (or have to be schemed like Cruz's breakout 2011 from the slot) is because they can't beat the jam regularly on the outside. It's why Lee will never be a #1, he has shown no ability to beat the jam (or make a contested downfield sideline catch for that matter). We'll see, but I don't think he can be that true #1 WR. Yeah he has a good vert and hands, but he's not Evans or Benjamin in that regard. Allen is big, but those guys are BIG. And they are just as fast if not slightly faster than ARob. Kelvin's YPC is 13.8. Mike Evans is 15+ ARob, now granted part of it might be the offense (but then again it seemed Hurns was more of a beneficiary of deep balls), but his YPC is a paltry 11.4. That's #2 and a possession type receiver number. And I also agree that Lee won't be a #1, which is why I won't be too disappointed if they choose to go Cooper or White at 3.
Lets have two number 1 WRs. This team hasnt had an explosive offense in over a decade. If im starting to get to the point where Im hoping for Cooper over LEO because I just want to see a functioning offense for once. We didnt get great pressure last year but I felt the defense played well enough to win a few more games. This coming year they gained talent/experience so just go help out the offense some more.

i really hope robinson stays healthy this season... bortles found AR15 quite a bit while he was in... if BB, AR, and Lee can manage to build a good connection, adding thomas makes that attack look lethal .. spinkle a RB on top and we got our selves an offense.
Quote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjHOM1TW...u.be&t=27sthis would make us scary... if you key on cooper, we finally have enough play makers(and a QB) to punish someone in multiple ways... BUT the potential of our D, if williams was avalible at 3, is the only thing that turns me away from cooper... adding a potential top tier D lineman to play next to marks when he come back from injury is SOOO inciting,.. having a decent pass rush like last year is something i never want go without again.... it was tragic watching that team get abused when we had nothing up front and imo, thats where alot of our bad blow out games stemmed from durring the gabbert era... well that and the fact that gabbert was garbage and went 3 and out more times than not.
Small guys can't beat the jam... LOL...

Not a fan of Cooper. If we take him, I'll support him, but I don't get the hype.
Here's what I see...
Quote: and here's what I see: you've ever never seen him play... orrr (and more likely) you're just at troll

Quote:and here's what I see:It's certainly your prerogative to disagree with my opinion. Would you care to explain as opposed to inferring I've never seen him play? Quote:Id really like to know one team where Arob isn't good enough to even be the number 3 receiver besides the colts. Bengals: AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Muhammed Sanu I don't think A ROB would Crack that one IMO. There's probably more teams also,, Broncos maybe? Bucs? We show less advertisements to registered users. Truth is, he's got sufficient speed and has the rare ability to consistently beat his man at the line of scrimmage (not unlike Jerry Rice.) He's got very good hands. He's an excellent, if not elite route runner. He's not being drafted to block. No matter your opinion of that skill. Ernest Wilford, he's not... and that's a good thing. He's self-motivated, and has a work ethic second to none. Yet another area he's been compared to Jerry Rice. That's nothing like whatever, or whoever, you described.

Quote:Truth is, he's got sufficient speed and has the rare ability to consistently beat his man at the line of scrimmage (not unlike Jerry Rice.)Fair enough, but I disagree. Keep in mind, I'm just a football fan, not a scout. What I have seen from Cooper is a solid, yet unspectacular player. I think he can have some success in this league, but I don't see him as a game-changer.
Quote:Bengals: AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Muhammed SanuI havent seen much of Marvin, I cant speak on bengals. Broncos yes he'd be number 3 over Latimer and bucs he'd be #3 as well
Quote:Bengals: AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Muhammed Sanu I think A Rob is going to be better than Sanu, but that's just me..

Allen Robinson
48 Rec 548 Yards 2 TDs Muhammad Sanu 56 Rec 790 Yards 5 TDs And Robinson missed like what? 6 games? Playing on a struggling offense. Not a bad stat line considering he's a rookie compared to the vet.

Quote:Allen Robinson I bet if we had Sanu, people here would be saying he couldn't start over Green, Robinson, and Jones... Lol
Shock the world
Quote:Allen Robinson Bengals relied very heavily on a stout running game last season. The Jags,,, not so much. Sanu putup some solid performances when Green was out. Maybe AR15 will end up better,, right now I say it's Sanu |
