I had never heard him comment on it before, so it was news to me. Like I have said a few times on here, it just makes those out of conference remarks completely pointless.

Quote:Wait. You asked where he was, and when he responds to your inquiry, this is your retort? Really?

It was a joke of a question so it got a joke of an answer.

You really think he wasn't going to come on this thread and say something like that?

The Florida football program is so down in the dumps that this is what gets Gator fans excited.

Sad.

99% of FSU fans get excited just from hearing bobby bowdens name, give us a break.

It's so funny to watch the role reversal between FSU and UF fans.  If something bad happened to a UF player or something within the program wasn't right it was deflect deflect deflect, excuse excuse excuse.

Now it's FSU's turn.

Even Shack Del Rio's post in this thread....a Gator fan would have said the same thing about an FSU fan.

People's fandoms blind them too much.

Hell, they bragged about how they handled the Treon Harris situation better than FSU handled the Jameis situation. That should give you an idea of where they're at right now.

Thing is, the College Football landscape has changed so much since FSU was considering a Conference. I know how people are looking at it now, but is it the same lens that people were using at the time to view this?

If not for some bogus holding calls on UF last year, UF beats FSU in Tallahassee, sooooo... if they are so down in the dumps, that means UF's worst is better than FSU's best.

Good point. If I had to venture a guess, I bet the powers that be in the FSU athletic department would turn an offer down if one was presented to them today by the SEC. Much for the same reasoning.

Another good point made on here before, and part of the way I can help support my guess above.

I think the Seminoles were looking ahead to the conference title game and college football playoff. Something Florida fans won't have to worry about for a while.

Well if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

Congrats on the moral victory there, chief.

Keep telling yourself that. FSU isn't going anywhere for a long time with the way Jimbo and co. recruit.

im not telling myself anything.  it's just an obvious fact that FSU lost a Heisman QB and will need time to recover.  they aren't contenders this year.

if by some chance they run through the ridiculously soft ACC and make the playoff, they'll get blown out again... no slip six necessary.

That's quite a stretch though isn't it? If I'm remembering correctly, FSU joined the ACC in '91. Their leadership would have to have been incredibly far-sighted to have forseen a Playoff and sign up for the ACC to push towards that end. I don't recall any talk to that end anyway.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

I think he was just saying the close game that UF gave them this year.  They were looking ahead to their conference game (another closer game) and a possible playoff game.

Ah! Well if that's the case then my apologies for the misunderstanding.

FSU's first year in the ACC was 92. Just an FYI.
