There is plenty that is positive. The biggest in my opinion is it starts a conversation and one society can no longer hide from.

 

  It gets back to what rocdee expressed earlier in this thread regardless whether the conversation has started or not:

To you yes. To others no. Which goes back to my original point. Most people never really knew what it meant to be Transgender or only had a view point from what they learned from their parents/church. Now people are looking it up, talking about it, learning more, debating and that is a good thing.

Obviously many people care. Society has hidden from it because it isn't something they want to confront or face or talk about. Society as a whole. Individually I'm not trying to debate your opinion of how you feel. People are now learning more about it, asking questions and debating. This really wasn't being done before. We as a society have to confront it or voice our opinion because people are going to ask you what you think. If you don't get it then I don't know what more to say.

If he doesn't want to be Bruce anymore, I don't think anyone has the right to force him to be just because it makes you more comfortable to do so.

Can't we fry multiple fish? Just because people are talking about this doesn't mean they aren't talking about other things as well. Can't always brush the minority under the rug can you? And it is bigger then just transgender. It gives others hope.

  Richard Raskind took a similar path in the 1970's that Bruce Jenner did in current times.  Without reading or hearing what Bruce Jenner said,  it wouldn't surprise me in the least that Raskind's action had an influence in his decision.

I'm not focused on it. This is the only place I have discussed it. Most of my focus today was working.
