I'm actually thinking about that exact scenario right now.

Okay. So what? She doesn't want to be Bruce anymore. Who cares if he can't get rid of a Y chromosome...he still wants to be a woman. How she chooses to live her life doesn't effect the rest of us, not one bit.

Quote:And jtmoney...you got your wish, we're talking about it. You and I just disagree about how important the subject matter is. And that's fine.

I don't know if I said how important it is. I simply responded to D6 who said nothing positive comes out of this in which I replied the biggest positive I see is it creates debate, discussion and education. And for many, it gives them hope that being different isn't bad and is okay. It's okay to be different and be comfortable with who you are even if others disagree. What you are seeing is a lot of support and more then we would have seen say 10-15 years ago which means more hope.

Whether I agree with something or not I can except reality. Reality is it is a topic of discussion whether you get why or not.

Trust me, this "reality" will soon come in the form of another reality show.

Probably, but it still did all of those things.

I have tremendous amount of appreciation for countless women past and present.   But I can't imagine myself in any body other than the one that I was given.

Quote:Fine...I'm out of touch. So be it. How about the ESPY's, CNN, ESPN, FOX, NBC, CBS, MSNBC team up and send boat loads of food all over the world to feed the hungry kids rather than put this guy on a pedestal? I mean he was already there before anyways.....hello Miss Decathalon! Seriously, these kardashians just enjoy the publicity.

I'm sure he just completely upended his entire world just to get a little publicity.

And why can't they "put this guy on a pedestal" AND send food all over the world? Why does it have to be either/or just because it's not an important cause to you?

It doesn't have to be your thing for you to be able to support another person doing their thing.

Very well said. Many people freeze others in their memory and can't escape a certain time or place. You know, like most parents can't see their children as full adults; they'll always be children to them. To many Caitlyn will always be Bruce in 1976.

How weird must it be to be a public figure stuck in time to many people. I guess a lot of music and sports stars have to deal with that.

The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.

I'm fine with the discussion, and I agree that it's ok to be different. It's just amazing how this makes front page headlines and the person he killed in a car accident a month or so ago is just buried under 6ft of dirt with no mention in the last few weeks. Imho...jenner is whacko...with a captial W

And there is nothing wrong with you feeling that way. I've never wanted to be anything other than a woman, I love being a woman, but that doesn't mean that I can't support someone that doesn't feel the same way about themselves as we do.

This is where we disagree.   I don't think we as human beings should be silent if we believe someone is doing something wrong that could be very damaging.  Having said that,  each of us has free will.

The guy/girl doesn't deserve it...that's why!

Exactly what should they be saying about her?

"Good evening...Skip Newsome here with a update on the person killed in that horrific accident cause by Bruce Jenner. Yep folks, she's still dead. Now back to you Cindy Lou for the weather."

Like I mentioned in my other recent reply to you,  each of us has free will.   While we view the situation vastly differently,   I'm glad that you have the opportunity to express your opinion and I'm glad that I can express a differing opinion.

I also don't have any problem with differing opinions. Everyone has reasons for believing how they feel, but it's stuff like this that make us talk about it, and that's always a good thing.

Idk how much good we're doing....but surely it isn't harming anything. Imo we could be doing a lot more to help people if that's really our goal here. Just say'n.
