Yeah, it was an accident....or was it? I mean he didn't intentionally kill her, but nevertheless...

Pretty sure that's the definition of "accident".

I'm done. I've said my peace. Go buy your Vanity Fair magazines, watch the ESPYs, and the soon to come reality show...have fun.

So they were talking about this on 1010 this morning, and I have to agree.  There are many current sports athletes that deserve this honor much more than Bruce Jenner.  They named three off hand that I agree with...I just wish I could remember names.

Lauren Hill - college basketball player with cancer.  They bumped up her first game so she could play and she raised millions for cancer research.

Noah Galloway -  war veteran that lost an arm and leg (if not more) to a roadside bomb who continues to do sporting events.

As I've said previous, what Bruce Jenner has gone through is couragous in its own way, but these two people are much more current in athletics and have gone through things that I feel are worse than what Jenner has gone through.

I honestly cannot believe this many people care. I guess they have to have something to be outraged about.

And in the end, people complaining are bringing attention to the ESPY Awards, which for the most part are terrible. So looks like ESPN made the right move.

It's pretty sad then that they chose someone for an award that isn't as deserving just to boost ratings.

But that is the goal of television. More ratings equal more ad revenue.

Same reason that Vanity Fair put him/her on the cover.

Then they are dumping all over Arthur Ashe and the many extremely deserving recipients from Jim Valvano, Muhammad Ali, Billie Jean King, Pat Tillman, Nelson Mandela etc., and the award they created. They're bastardizing it for the sake of money, sad.

What does the "E" in ESPN stand for?

I love when a people here express their opinion a few people (and its always the same people) always like to point out faux outrage as if something cant annoy them and they aren't allowed to express their opinion here.

If you aren't interested and it doesn't interest you, why come into this thread?  Let alone come here and waste your time posting on something you dont care about.

Entertainment, which has nothing to do with the value of the award that was created to honor a tremendous human being, and then the recipients who follow.

I don't know if it is faux outrage or not, I never claimed it was.

I merely said I am surprised so many people care.

I have no doubt that ESPN picked him/her for only one reason. To start a conversation and get people talking about the ESPY's, an otherwise forgettable awards show.

Mission accomplished.

While the Espy's isn't the greatest show on tv, its not a terrible thing to watch.

I was also there to see one live and be behind the scenes....that makes it all the more interesting.

Caitlyn Jenner changed nothing about herself. She just revealed to the world who she really is. The lie was told all the years before.

More like driving recklessly while trying to escape from the paparazzi while on hormonal drugs which he shouldn't have been driving in the first place.

And to answer your last question, yes, you are. Tongue

It being plastered all over ESPN's tv channel and homepage, not to mention it being on every major news network and on the social media.

It's not like I can just turn off the tv and live in my car.
