dont know who peter smith is or his credentials when it comes to scouting but here is a detailed in depth evaluation of derek carr as a prospect
Quote:
There will be a lot of focus on the offense the Bulldogs run because of the number of passes that are behind the line of scrimmage in the form of bubble screens or quick passes. These plays work to help the offensive line in pass blocking and to supplement a less than stellar running game. Getting past those throws, the results are incredibly impressive. http://withthefirstpick.com/2013/11/04/2...sno-state/
Carr has all the physical tangibles to be pretty good, he just isn't Teddy
Quote:7.31 YPA, lulz. He's actually regressed there since his sophomore year. 7.31 YPA in COLLEGE?!! lol....thats Gabbert-esque. Yet. stupors will clamor for us to draft this guy.... ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Thank you for the parrotting thunder....do YOU have an opinion. ..and don't worry if you haven't seen him play...you seemed fine with forming one on Bridgewater without seeing him....I know it took awhile to drum up the two scouts who had anything bad to say about the kid...but you did it
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.
Sometimes the numbers are right and other times you have to look between the numbers...
2009 draft eligible QB class: 1) Greg McElroy, Alabama--9.54 YPA--71%--4:1 TD:INT Ratio 2) Cam Newton, Auburn--10.19 YPA--66%--4:1 3) Andy Dalton, TCU--9.04 YPA--66%--4:1 4) Scott Tolzien, Wisconsin--9.24 YPA--73%--3:1 5) Ricky Stanzi, Iowa--8.71 YPA--64%--4:1 6) Ryan Mallett, Arkansas--9.41 YPA--65%--3:1 7) Tyrod Taylor, Virginia Tech--8.71 YPA--60%--5:1 8) Colin Kaepernick, Nevada--8.42 YPA--65%--3:1 9) Mike Hartline, Kentucky--7.85 YPA--66%--3:1 10) T. J. Yates, North Carolina--8.10 YPA--67%--2:1 11) Taylor Potts, Texas Tech--6.76 YPA--67%--4:1 12) Ryan Colburn, Fresno State--7.83 YPA--63%--3:1 13) Carson Coffman, Kansas State--7.83 YPA--65%--2:1 14) Adam Froman, Louisville--7.49 YPA--61%--3:1 15) Ben Chappell, Indiana--6.82 YPA--63%--3:1 16) Christian Ponder, Florida State--6.84 YPA--62%--3:1 17) Adam Weber, Minnesota--7.28 YPA--56%--2:1 18) Blaine Gabbert, Missouri--6.71 YPA--63%--2:1 19) Jeff Van Camp, Florida Atlantic--7.34 YPA--57%--1:1 20) Jake Locker, Washington--6.82 YPA--55%--2:1 With that said I think the magical number for almost guaranteed success is 10+ YPA. If a QB can hit this number, regardless of the style of offense, there is a high chance to succeed at the next level. Its a hard feat to do at any level and just so happens the highest ranked QBs in this draft (Bridgewater, Mariota) have reached it.

i wanna see him play a good defense but he pretty much cemented a top 20 pick with his consistent play. i would even say hes my 2nd qb behind teddy. only because im not all about that dual threat qbs.

I like him a lot but I hate the offense he plays in. And I would be super afraid of laying the next 5 years of the franchise on him.

Vagrantwade real question how much will you cry if Teddy doesn't get drafted here?

Quote:Vagrantwade real question how much will you cry if Teddy doesn't get drafted here? He has already stated he would become a Tampa Bay fan.

Fresno State QB Derek Carr has accepted an invitation to attend the 2014 Senior Bowl. Carr is going to tear it up in passing drills. The senior has a ridiculous arm to hit receivers at every level of the field, but can throw with a poor base. he has improved versus a pass rush but still relies on his strong arm when falling away from throws. He will likely be the top quarterback selected that is attending the event.
cant wait til the draft

Quote:I feel sorry for whatever team wastes a draft pick on him. Quote:I like him a lot but I hate the offense he plays in. :ermm: ![]() |
