Possible Coaches for 2016?
|
Quote:Mcdaniels has more wins in two years as a head coach then Gus has. Mcdaniels has been an oc for a Super Bowl team and has helped lead a successful offense for years. I like the fact that he's had experience as a head coach once already. Some of these guys learn from there past experiences. He may actually be a decent choice. He couldn't be worse than scrub Bradley. And he rubbed so many people the wrong way (players and front office people) that he lasted 2 years. Plus the Belichick coaching tree bears no fruit.
Only a chump boos the home team!

We have an in house option - Doug Marrone - waiting in the wings if they fire Gus during the season, and perhaps even in the scenario they fire Gus after the season. By no means would the guy be my choice to takeover, but he did coach the Bills to a winning record.
Other than that there will be the age old argument between hiring the hot coordinator or going for a retread. For me, i don't have a preference as long as they are the right person for the job. Three of the last four super bowl winning head coaches have been retreads (BB, Carroll and Coughlin), but others have been former coordinators that have won (Harbaugh, Payton etc). That said, I think Gus deserves to coach out this season. If it's a few win season he should go. I think for him to stay for another season we would need to improve to at least 6 wins, and even then an argument could be made to find an upgrade.
How sad is it that we're talking about HC candidates after the 1st game of the season?
Any time a successful coach gets fired, we should make him the highest paid coach and bring him in. Like when Andy Reid got fired in Philadelphia

Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011 Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.
Anybody else had the feeling that Gus was dead man walking the moment he walked through the door back in 2013? He just didn't look like he would last.
Sure we got excited with his upbeat personality & energy, but something about him didn't seem like he had that longevity factor. Nothing like Mularkey though, who seemed like he was just living at an extended stay motel the whole time he was a coach.

I actually like Josh McDaniels. The real culprit behind this team is Caldwell though. Look at his drafts.

Quote:Mcdaniels from new england There seems to be a common theme falling from the Belichik tree --- the asst coaches are not nearly as good without Brady.
Bill Walsh's ghost spirit. Hire Whoopie Goldberg to communicate with Coach Walsh.

How long until we start getting reports of Cowher buying a house in Ponte Vedra?
