Luck out this weeks game?

Honestly would rather the Jaguars play against an injured Andrew Luck than a healthy Matt Hasselback, as the DBs are all injured and below average even if the starters were playing.

There would be a total meltdown on this board if we lose to Hasselback and they would have every right too. We would ONCE again be the joke of the NFL.

Quote:Prediction:  Andrew Luck plays Sunday and the phrase "shoulder seemed just fine" is heard more than once in the final broadcast.   <_<
Somehow this is the most likely scenario, as Luck rips us for 300 yards and 4 TD's, 0 INT's.

I think the Jags are going to tighten up, embarrass Indy at home, gain a huge statement win, and make a push for relevancy.

But they would have every right to if we lost to a Hasselback led struggling colts team.

Given the demonstrated ineptitude of our offense and inability of our defense, I would venture to say that even a somewhat less than 100% luck is capable of taking our defense apart. We tend to make questionable backups look pretty good too. I would be thrilled for us to gain an unexpected victory in Indy, but the odds are still very much in favor of the dolts once again handing us a big, fat, loss. I'm still looking toward the bucs as or most possible next win... maybe.

Absolutely. Because the fact that we're now starting some guy who works in the print room at half our defensive back positions isn't relevant at all.

What guy is that?  What position would he be starting on this Sunday?

Hyperbole. We weren't far from it last week, and I don't expect us to be that far from it this week. Any time you're pulling guys off the practice squad to cover gaping holes in the roster, it's not going to be good for that position group. Or are you denying that injuries are a serious issue there? We were out five players by the end of the last game; only two of them are returning for the next.

I know, every team deals with injuries. There are other teams out there with as many injured players. Only it seems to happen to the Jaguars every year, and it seems to focus on one or two positions every year.

Given the demonstrated ineptitude of our fans and their inability to reason wholesomely, and gain some belief in their team, I would venture to say that even a somewhat less than 100% luck is capable of shattering their already putrefying psyche . We tend to make questionable teams look pretty good too, in our view of them, and dish out immeasurable ill vibes towards our team. I would be thrilled for us to gain an unexpected victory in Indy, but I have an immense inferior complex, so I'm still very much in favor of the dolts once again handing us a big, fat, loss, to solidify my sense of shame.

Yeah, because it makes *no difference at all* whether we're missing five players at a single position, right?

It's not an excuse. It's a reality, and refusing to acknowledge it is foolishness of the highest order.

And further, it's not an excuse for last week's overall performance, because I don't think anyone was relying on our corners alone to put us in a position to compete with the Patriots, and even the guys replacing injured players did worse than anyone would have liked. But in games that are close but potentially winnable, injuries *can and do* make the difference. Unfortunately, we've got a game coming up that's close, potentially winnable, and significant, and the team is riddled with injuries.

Hopefully if Luck's playing injured too, that will even things out a bit.

I've never been on the meltdown wagon, i think it's silly that adults can't control their emotions over a football game.  However.  I'd venture to say the Colts without Luck are a very bad football team.  If Luck is out and we lose, I think i'll finally admit that Gus is not the guy.  Caldwell should stay.  That being said, i'm fairly confident we win if Luck is out.  The rest of the Colts, outside a few guys, just aren't that good.

I love the "excuses" crowd.  It requires the least amount of thought to throw the "excuses" tag out there when someone points something factual out to them.

Oh Ok.  I thought we were talking about Luck and the colts game.

This week, the Jags have 3 of their top 4 cornerbacks; Aaron Colvin, Demetrius Mccray, and Dwayne Gratz quite healthy, all potentially solid starters, with adequate experience. Davon House has practiced limitedly so he's a bit of a question mark.

At safety, the Jaguars received favorable news as starter Jonathan Cyprien is back in the lineup; giving them a chance to utilize 2 of their top 3 players at that position. He'll team up with promising but raw rookie James Sample, while Sergio Brown and backup Josh Evans nurse ailments.

Sorry buddy, that's the way I look at it.  All about outlook.  And good vibes...some of it likely won't hurt.
