How do you honestly feel about this win today?

#21

I've decided I feel good about it. Real good. Hell if we had beat the horns last week we'd be tied with the clots for the division.

And I hope our coaches have 'learned some things" about the players that aren't and can't produce.

light a fire under those that aren't and get rid of those that can't.

I'm tired of slowby, myers and a few others that just don't belong on this team.

HAPPY

This is the NFL. Big boy league. Style is for meaningless power rankings.

All that matters is that win number increasing.

Just win, baby.

And i'm pretty sure there will be plenty of moments of sadness still to come, so I shall enjoy this one.

Here are my very high level thoughts.  The Jags could have blown this one but they did make the plays when it mattered.  On the other hand, the officiating was atrocious.  There were three plays in particular that stood out (I was at the game and haven't had a chance to watch any replays), so take this with a grain of salt.  One was the touchdown where the Bills I think got to 17 points.  The receiver looked liked he only had one foot in bounds.  They never mentioned if they replayed it or what the result was in the stadium.  The EJ fumble in the third or early fourth quarter that the Jags recovered but was given back to the Bills was never explained in the stadium.  I think the Bills ended up scoring on the drive and they never should have.  Gonna have to watch the replay to recall the third instance I was thinking of, but the gist is that the Bills should never have been in that game period.  The Jags have to work to overcome those kinds of things on a more regular basis, but I'm going to try not to complain too much.  A win is win!

More relieved than happy.

After we jumped up to that 27-3 lead, we never should have allowed them back in the game.

Short yardage offense is going to kill us.

I LOVE football again this week and I can actually watch the weekly highlights when they come on instead of having to change the channel when the Jags highlights come on.

And all that goes for next week too.

I feel like the players who have been playing well(Arob, Hurns, Telvin Smith, Colvin, Yeldon) continued to look good, and players who struggled(Cyprien, Myers, Branch, Gratz) continued to struggle. If the refs don't gift us that PI on 3rd and 15, we're looking at 1-6 and 4 winnable games lost in a row. I wanted this win to gain some confidence in the team and show how the team is capable of playing. Instead, we were lucky to beat a Bills team without Tyrod Taylor, Percy Harvin, Sammy Watkins, and some key defensive players. I still have no confidence in this coaching staff and looking at the schedule we can maybe beat Tennessee and Houston.

Great comeback for BB5.  I'm happy our offense put together that drive to take back the win.  We really needed that!

On the TD catch, the foot was barely in bounds. Like all scoring plays, it was reviewed. It cracked me up when the color commentator said the Nike swoosh fooled him into thinking the foot was on the line.

On the fumble, the official said the play had been blown dead because forward progress had been stopped before the fumble.

As for the game, I continue to be encouraged about the progress of Bortles, Yeldon and the Alans. I'm always happy for a win, gift wrapped or not.

RJ, did you even see a Nike swoosh? I was at a complete loss as to what the announcer (Gannon?) was talking about.

Winning is always good, but at the same time this game signifies probably even more so than the losses that Bradley needs to be gone.  If those tweet about him being here next year unless the team goes 1-15 are true then I'm kind of disappointed.

pretty good we went conservative way too soon and had a hard time ramping the energy back up.  The goal line series I would have been okay with if Yeldon got two of those carries.  Giving up the next 99yards to EJ Manuel the long td pass to some unknown Wr was pretty discouraging.  Right before the pick six I actually told my friend that usually in a situation like this we throw a pick six so that pissed me off.

Now for the referee section

1.  The pick Six didn't make any sense to me until I saw that Arob got tackled as Bortles threw the ball although I'm not sure he would have made it to the ball if he didn't, regardless that should have been a Pi

2.  The third and long near sack that gave them an automatic first with a roughing the passer was an absolute crap call.

(any of these automatic firsts from personal fouls, roughing the passer need to be changed to a yardage play that keeps the down and distance the same I'm absolutely sick of a teams defense making a play on third and long forcing 4th down only to have that offense that just lost get an automatic first and to start over.)

3. The "gift" Pi on Bryan Walters I thought was a good foul he was pushed off his route 15 yards up the field as the ball was in the air.

4.  the Ej fumble on the qb sneak was ruled correctly as stopped by forward progress.

5. The rest of the game nothing really stood out to me as a problem couple lil ticky tack calls here and there but those seemed to be the game changers.

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine

Quote:I know that as a fan I should be happy and excited that we won, but I just don't feel anything after this win. This team really has to play better on both sides of the ball, as well as learning how to close games out. Even Bortles admitted that the offense played terribly today (including himself). That takes real character to admit that.
Bittersweet.  I was hoping this was a game where the Jags would just steam roll an opponent but it was another close game.  Second half almost cost us again

We got an intception TD, a fumble TD, then an interception 3 play TD all in a couple of minutes. There's 21 points gift wrapped. It's not like we ever had a lot of success on offense but for a couple of drives, most notably the last one.

It's the kind of win you have to expect from this team. A blowout was too good to be true, and at the end of the day, they figured out how to squander what looked to be an easy win. At least they pulled it out in the end. Happy with the win. Not happy with the route they took to get it.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
