This. It can always get worse.

I remember a Giants/Bears playoff game a good 20 years ago where a punter completely whiffed on a punt.  Anybody remember who that was?

edit:  Googled it.  Sean Landetta

At least 2. IIRC against Carolina and Cincinnati where he got booed off the field after a 20 yard punt.

I love that the gold standard for keeping our punter is there was a guy who wiffed 20 years ago and it could always be Turk.

I'm fine with bringing in competition at ALL positions. But its slim pickings in the middle of the season. A change isn't likely to come until next year at the earliest. We just need to make sure the guy they bring is IS the guy and not another Turk or Meyers.

Yeah, I wasn't proposing cutting Anger middle of season, but eventually, all the Gene Smith trash needs to be taken out and Lewis and Anger can be the next guys put on the curb.

I don't sense a move to replace Myers just yet. I feel like they want to give Myers every chance to improve and be the guy, but just in case he doesn't they have to know who's out there and what their options are. You can't worry about what Myers might think if they're trying out other kickers. If anything, he should use it as motivation.

Heh. You're being polite.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

What has exactly done to prove that he is the guy? He was inaccurate in college and (so far) has been inaccurate as a pro, it'd be different if the kid had a good track record that indicates he'll turn it around but he doesn't.

You're going to ride this wagon until the wheels fall off, aren't you?

I'm kidding. But really, Myers has been so bad that I just don't see him making it to the Jets game.

They need to find a consistent kicker as well as a consistent red zone offense.

Quote:Lee is looking very bad. I think it's best to send him to IR because he is Walters has been playing great as well as our Allens. Let Lee it out the rest of the year and the offseason and put the end to his hamstring problems. If he rests it for months on end he should be healthy to play next year.

They will need to make some decisions. Greene will be eligible to come back in a couple of weeks (Titans game I think?) and basically take Sterling's spot. If Lee, for whatever reason is able to come back, whose spot does he replace? Certainly not Walters, who IMO has proven his worth as a reliable slot and ST player. Which means that we'll have to decide in other positions. And with all the injuries at other spots, we may not be able to afford cutting numbers there either.
