Julius Thomas (merged)

I have a hard time believing Fred with the whole distraction thing. It wasn't as if the Allens weren't productive before JT's debut. I mean, that doesn't mean he's not a distraction for them, but he's clearly not the reason why those two have been producing the way that they have.

I think the only distraction Julius Thomas can cite is his discovery of the Golden Corral
This is why we shouldn't sign a big free agent ever again.
I'm not giving up hope on JT, but he does look slow and out of shape out there.
No commercial messages in sigs
I have waited for a few games to comment on his play. It does seem to be lackadaisical in nature. When I see him running it looks slow and lacking in precise movement. He appears to be overweight. Seems as if he might go the way of many of the previous free agents that came our way. Looking for that fat paid vacation. Really aggravates me.
Looking to troll? Don't bother, we supply our own.

Quote:I'm trying to be positive, but that "mickelson look" he's rockin is giving me the feeling he's on an Aaron Ross designed vacation.Screw being positive. The dude is the highest paid TE in the NFL and is showing that he couldn't care less about living up to his price tag. He's fat. He is being a lazy [BLEEP] right now. I wish someone on this coaching/training staff would have the stones to say it to his face, or even call him out to the media about it.
He's fat
But I keep getting killed on this board for being right. Another Dave Caldwell bust Quote:He's fatNo. You keep getting killed on this board for being a troll-posturing idiot. We don't know the real extent of his injuries, so assuming it's 100% laziness is merely blind speculation. Quote:Everyone kept reporting how Julius Thomas looked like the real deal throughout training camp and there were videos of him catching touchdowns. In the scrimmage he looked pretty good and scored there as well. You don't have to search very hard to find a bunch of hype articles on him... Or on this board. That's the confusing part for me. Makes me think it's a conditioning and/or injury issue rather than him just giving up. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! He's fat and slow and doesn't make clutch catches at all. Goes down so easy too.

"It was Blake Bortles the whole time. They believe in this kid. He reminds me a bit of a young Ben Roethlisberger." ~Mike Mayock
Quote:Caldwell could see into the future then, right??you could say that about nearly any GM signing. So tell me, what standard should we judge a GM by if none of them can "look into the future "?
We had a boat of money to spend, we had a glaring weakness at the position, and he was the best TE available. Faulting Caldwell for that is foolish.
Quote:you could say that about nearly any GM signing.GMs look for production, traits, skills, intelligence, among a plethora of other things before signing a player. JT met all standards. Nobody told him he would get fat, injured, etc.

We can't fault Caldwell for anything. After all, he can't see into the future
JT shined all throughout OTAs and practices before he got hurt. It's not like the guy has been a bum since they day we signed him.
