Drafting if we fall out the first 5

If we fell out of the top 5? Hmm I think we would go defensive line
Shock the world

Quote:Glad I'm not alone. I feel your pain with drafting another OT, but in my personal opinion it needs to be done. Can't build a house without a good foundation.. That's why if the Jags fall out and don't get TB, give me Matthews and BAQB.. Quote:Given our schedule, and how the team is improved surely its not beyond reason that we'll win at least 2 possibly more of the remaining games? We're not exactly playing world beaters. (not that we are either!)I think you're right. Vikings will most likely end up with the #1 pick. I do think the Browns are going to stomp us (that defense is really good and it will be very cold) Here is my projected top 5: 1. Vikings- Teddy 2. Houston- Clowney (I also think they go get Cutler) 3. Atlanta- Barr 4. Jacksonville- ? 5. Cleveland (pick from Washington)- Watkins Quote:Again why the heck would we draft another LT? That makes no sense what so ever. We just had 2 and then traded one and now people want to draft another one? This draft has some pass rushers and QBs, but yea lets keep drafting OLmen.SF Has 3 first round Olineman and Kap has time to throw for the most part, so taking another Quality first round OT is not out of the question. It does no good if you take a QB in the first round and some not so good Olineman in later rounds, what happens is your Star QB will spend the majority of his time on his back and hurt most likely. If we dont have a top 5 pick which i dont think we will i have no problemy getting Mathews. Quote:I think you're right. Vikings will most likely end up with the #1 pick. I do think the Browns are going to stomp us (that defense is really good and it will be very cold) In this scenario, I'd have no problem taking Jake Matthews. He'd hands down be BAP and we wouldn't have to worry about bookend tackles for a very long time. I know I'm in the minority here, but I wouldn't mind Khalil Mack right there either. I think he's got the talent and edge to be big-time in this league. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:There's no sure thing in the draft if that was true Aaron Curry, Jamarcus Russell, and a whole bunch of other "sure things" would be stars. Those players were not sure things. Not like Bridgewater, anyway. How can a player with work ethic questions (Russell) be considered a sure thing??? And Curry? - he was drafted like 4th. Obviously not everyone thought he was a sure thing.

Quote:Dude, just shut up already and use the kleenex for dryin up the tears this time.. So, you'd be happy with the Jags drafting 4th in that scenario? I guess Caldwell should just forfeit that pick, along with the rest of the picks in the draft if this were to happen. Phooey!

No one's saying that, but it will be that much harder for the Jags to get to where they want to go by falling all the way to 4th in this draft... Quote:No one's saying that, but it will be that much harder for the Jags to get to where they want to go by falling all the way to 4th in this draft... I'd still be optimistic of our future. It's all about making the right picks. Sure, we'd still need a QB, but there's nothing we can do in this scenario if Teddy is off the board. I still wouldn't mind Bortles in round two, if he declares. But that's just me. Quote:The scary thing is Gabbert wasn't considered a lottery pick. He was the top QB on a lot of boards, and even the draft pundits liked him too, but were the first to blame up for taking him when he went all Gabbert on us. Hmmm...just like Teddy! Or how we Just Had To take Geno last year #2 overall lol. And yet no one was screaming for Russell Wilson. And yet you still think you have it all figured out. Quote:So, you'd be happy with the Jags drafting 4th in that scenario? You have to make the best out of any situation. You can't sit there and kick the damn dog every time something doesn't go your way.. Crying about it just makes the situation worse.
Jake Matthews will so be the pick @ #4.

Quote:If we fall out of the top 5, then its QB lottery for us. You cant hit if you dont try. And this isnt to say take a QB just to take one, I trust Caldwell will pick a guy he believes in. There seems to be a large surge in the Derek Carr fanclub. I've not really seen him play. Is there a chance he goes before Mariota? Would he be a better fit for the offence?
