It's not paid for by the citizens of the city. Since the balance of 45 million will be collected from the bed tax, it is being funded by tourists. Pretty sneaky if you ask me.

I've spoken to many people who really like the design.  It will change the entire atmosphere around the stadium. 

 

I think the design is actually better than expected.  It's not just a big inflatable bubble.  It's a multi-use facility that includes a band shell.  It'll give the stadium a very unique look from outside.

While overall I think this is great news for the Jags.  I have to admit to being a bit concerned about what this is going to do in regards to the cost of my tickets.

I believe my seats are among those that are going to be eliminated when they revamp the clubs.  A survey I received recently was all about asking how much MORE I was willing to pay if I am relocated.    I may be priced out of the market.

That's going to happen regardless of what happens with stadium renovations. 

 

The good news is the team has done a pretty good job of keeping the ticket prices affordable, identifying revenue streams that would allow them to do so.  Odds are, the practice facility and the amphitheater will both have corporate sponsorship similar to what they did in St. Louis around the baseball stadium there.  Lamping was involved in that project, and much of what he did there is happening here as well. The more sponsorship dollars they can bring in, the better they can control the increase in ticket prices.  However, at some point ticket prices have to go up, and in reality, they already have for everyone.  It won't stop ticket price increases, but it should hopefully slow them a bit.

Yup.  They're breaking ground 1/4 according to reports last night. 

Just said on 1010xl that the club seat portion of the renovations are expected to be finished by the first preseason game, and the practice field by early fall.

 

Kinda disappointing to me it won't all be done by early July, but still excited overall.

That's a lot of work that has to be done quickly.  The club renovations are probably the easiest piece of this project since it's mostly demo work.

I realize that some increase is inevitable, but the tone of the survey made it seem like the increase was going to be SIGNIFICANT.  Hopefully I am mistaken and it will just be the typical every so often increase.

This rendering looks a bit different than the original rendering. The amphitheater is now facing the stadium and looks as if it may be apart of the stadium as well.
