No Jags to the Pro Bowl (MERGED)

Quote:I would have if he were in it

I probably would have watched it around the time period he would be up to play, would be interesting just to see how many targets he'd get over some of the other WRs.

Pro bowl has always been a joke and will be a joke until something drastically changes. Calvin Johnson getting in over him is a joke. Even Green or Fitzgerald over him makes no sense.

Telvin should of been over Hali.

All Pro is really the only one that matters.

Quote:It's sad that the Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest anymore, from the fans and players and coaches. It doesn't mean anything anymore...

I know. One year Aaron Rodgers complained the NFC team was not showing enough effort to win. That was when the NFL decided to go non-conference. I wish it was still AFC vs. NFC.

Moving it up to before the Super Bowl so that conference champions can't play in Hawaii made it worse as well. It is supposed to feature the best players and many of them are Super Bowl participants.

Quote:I believe that if the Jags had found a way to be 8-6 right now and in 1st place in the division, that A-Rob 15 would be going to his very first Pro Bowl.

That's what I believe, unfortunately we will never know.

You are crazy if you think we have to win the division to get players voted in. We don't need to win eight games either. Odell Beckham and Calvin Johnson got in. It is all about player recognition. Allen Robinson's lack of recognition comes from the fact that we get little national attention from the media. We just need to win enough games to get more of that in a positive way.

A-Rob is a first alternate.

So embarrassing

I really felt that Telvin Smith and Poz shouldve made it.  I mean how do you come in 3rd place in tackles and play the way he did and not at least get alternate?

Or Poz having 3 INTS and if it wasnt for missing games due to injury possibly being 1st in the NFL in tackles?

A.J. Green and Larry Fitzgerald are not having bad seasons. I agree about Calvin Johnson. The Pro Bowl will be a joke as long as it includes fan voting and is played before the Super Bowl.

Three interceptions are not enough to make someone a Pro Bowler. There is no reason to think missing games had anything to do with Poz not getting in. He simply is not one of the best MLBs this season. He's good, but not even close to the best guys at his position.

It really makes you shake your head

i mean the OLB that made it;

Jamie Collins -76 Tack, 41 solo, 5.5 sacks, 5 PDef, 1 INT, 4 FF

Justin Houston   - 30 Tack, 25 Solo, 7.5 Sacks, 8 PDef, 2INT, 1 TD

Von Miller  - 31 tackles, 26 solo, 10 sacks, 4 FF, 0 PDef, 0 INT

DeMarcus Ware - 20 Tckl, 6.5sck, 1FF, 0INT, 0PDef (i mean he has more sacks but was used to rush more than Telvin).

Thomas Davis- 97 Tackles, 70 Solo, 5.5 Sacks, 4 FF, 1 FR, 3 INT, 6 PDef

Tamba Hali- 48 Tackles, 39 Solo, 6.5 Sacks, 2 FF, 0 INT

Let's look at Telvin Smith stats so far this year

128 (3rd place) tackles 99 solo (2nd in the NFL)  2.5 sacks, 8 PDef 1 INT 1 TD 2 FF

I think a good argument could be made for Telvin over Ware & Hali in the ProBowl.  The Jaguars are out of the playoffs if they are going to play Telvin in these last two meaningless games why not have him simply rush every down to get more sacks if for no other reason than to show them all wrong.. im sure if he rushes every time he'll get a few sacks before the end of the season!

Not to mention the INT that was called back due to a penalty by other teammate, and I think he had another INT that had a penalty too.

Bprtles didnt get snubbed. Who are you honna take out for Bortles?

Quote:Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson were both nominated for AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Bortles threw for 322 yards and five touchdowns, while Robinson caught three touchdowns and 153 yards. Instead, Brandon Marshall won the award. He caught 12 catches for 131 yards and a touchdown. Quote from nfl.com:

I beg to differ. Our players were superior in every way other than the fact that the Jets won and we lost. In which case, it's not really an individual award. What are your thoughts?
To be fair Philip Rivers didn't make it and he had an even better year than Blake (Stat wise)!  Big Ben shouldnt have made it he didnt have the stats of others (I realize that is because he was injured but still that was mainly on name reck).

Big Ben shouldnt have made it based on this season's stats compared to Rivers, Bortles and others that couldve went instead of him.

Complete BS that neither Robinson, Smith, or Poz got in.

5 out of 8 pro bowl wr last year dropped out.. Do to super bowl and other reasons.. I believe that aj green robbed robinson of his pro bowl.. Robinson has more explosive plays than him with 31 plays of 20-40 yards.. Plus he has less catches than Greene with 69.. Greene has 77 catches.. Greene has 8 TD robinson has 13.. Robinson plays on a crappier team.. Robinson is the youngest wr since moss '98 to be the age 22 or younger.. To get 1000 yards and 9 plus TD in his first twelve games.. Odell Beckham did it in twelve games but not his first twelve games.. I can go on and on lol.. Not to mention brees is possibly out next week due to platus tear in foot.. Then jags play texans week 17.. Jags could go 7-9.. Robinson could get 15-17 td.. Last two teams saints Texans have horrible secondary.. Robinson could post randy moss Calvin Johnson type stats..

If this isn't enough proof, the pro bowl is a joke.
