Not true. Gus Bradley was our coach in 2015 and we showed a lot of improvement on offense. That cannot be disputed. It also cannot be disputed that this team is still in rebuilding mode, so upgrading positions - especially on defense - can show continued improvement on the field. Nothing anyone else says can convince me it is Bradley's fault that we have a talent problem. That falls on Gene Smith.

Fair enough; I'll make no effort to convince you of anything. However, I would like to comment on some things you mentioned. Gus Bradley was our HC in 2015 and indeed the offense did show much improvement. However, I don't see the direct correlation between the improvement and Gus Bradley being here as HC. There were a number of factors involved in that, most notably the ongoing maturation of Bortles and the receivers.

 

Indeed, the talent 'black hole' we've been in wasn't created by Gus Bradley; it was, more than anyone else, created by Gene Smith. That is a well established fact that has been flogged endlessly here. However, given the talent that we do have, Gus has been either unwilling or unable to change the type defense he ran in Seattle to something more suitable to our talent level here. That is directly attributable to Gus Bradley and a key reason why our defense has stunk so bad since he has been here. He has been trying to run a defensive style that we didn't and don't have the talent for, simple as that. Load our defense with a bunch of high caliber players and it could be a different story; but what we have is a bunch of mediocre to low caliber players on our defense.

 

Why hasn't Gus changed the defense to better suite the players he has? Either he is stubborn to the point that he would sacrifice years of the team season record rather than change... or, he lacks the knowledge to run anything other than the scheme he used in Seattle. There's really no other way to see it as far as I can tell. Gus certainly isn't making himself look very desirable as a prospective defensive coordinator given his record at J'ville.

Gus Bradley showed he is willing to make some changes, even if they are minimal, when he fired Bob Babich. After promoting Todd Wash to DC, he hired an assistant DB coach. Clearly he got the message something needed to be done on that side of the ball. Only time will tell how that works out.

Gus Bradley wasn't the reason they got better, the new coaching staff and the second year players were. Gus Bradley is a defensive coach who told us he didn't know what else to do to fix the defense. That is unacceptable in a head coach and grounds for him to be terminated. 

 

But Shad is making money on a bad product so it's another year of Sprinkles for all.

He doesn't know any other way, he's a round peg kind of coach and it doesn't matter if he doesn't have any round peg players.
