Do you realize how close this team is to making the playoffs?

Maybe I'm punch drunk, because I've been watching Bortles/A-Rob/Hurns highlight videos on You Tube.

Man, we've got some playmakers on offense...something we haven't had since the glory days of Brunell, Fred, Jimmy, and Keenan. In 2007, Garrard was good and Mojo was fantastic, but we still didn't have the weapons we have now...and I haven't even mentioned Yeldon and Julius Thomas.

We don't need to completely overhaul our defense. With Fowler, Marks, and Telvin and another good linebacker and pass rusher, we could have a dominant front seven. That's the key to Carolina's defense--their cornerbacks are nothing special.

Add those key pieces, keep everyone healthy, and we can make the playoffs.

You can't seriously believe Josh Norman is "nothing special." He is one of the NFL's best cornerbacks and a big reason Carolina will play in Super Bowl 50.

We need a free safety by any means possible. Until that happens, there will be problems at the back end of our defense.

On offense, we absolutely have to get a good center and backup tackle. The other pieces are there, but it all starts with the offensive line.

Go watch how utterly futile we looked against the Texans both games really, and then how the fairly meh Chiefs completely dominated the Texans in the playoffs. We still have a ways to go.

So close but yet so far.....................................................................

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Bortles has to cut down the turnovers, and we need a defense. Still a couple years away. Atleast the offense is close.

Close is a relative term. 1 astronomical unit (AU) is equivalent to the average distance of Earth from the sun, or about 93,000,000 miles. That's considered very, very close to astronomers.

As we stand right now, I'd say the Hubble space telescope could pick out our faint glow with long exposure times. An AU would be considered about as useful in measuring that distance as a tape measure from the Earth to the moon.

In astrophysical terms, we suck.

Our offense is good, but Bortles still needs to work on accuracy. Throwing as many INTs as he has doesn't help our chances to win consistently.

Josh Norman shut down every single top WR he has played against this season aside from Julio jones. He means a lot. Could you imagine if we had a corner who shut down every top WR. We would have won 5 more games lol. He is a staple in their d. Truthfully their d thrives on the pass rush though.

Absolutely. Alex Mack would be huge for us.

Which comes first the Chicken (pass rush) or the Egg (coverage)?

-Close win against a bad/mediocre Miami

-Miracle win over an injury-riddled Balt

-Close win over the terrible Tacks

-Close win over Buffalo where the Defense scored a ton of turnovers and points, and then tried to give it away

-Big win over the Hasselbeck Colts ("Jags 2015 Superbowl")

No, it's not close to playoffs yet. It's getting there,, but not yet.

The Offense maybe. Only needing a Top 10 running game and better O-line. The most important part is in place (QB).

Agreed.  Offense just needs a 'tweek', such as a player or two added into the OLine.  However, this defense needs a significant influx of talent.
