Von Miller

Seen the slow motion replays of that. Unbelievable

If by some miracle John Elway just so happens to let him test free agency, Dave should give him the keys to the city.

In fantasy land we'd get Miller, Berry, and Norman and be 2016 SB Champs.

Oh, I think Cam backing away from covering up his fumble will probably rival that interception.  Superman lost his cape on that play.

Miller is getting franchised. Elway has done a great job, but his GM ability will be tested in upcoming seasons.

I doubt he gets franchised tagged, I think it's more likely he signs a long term contract.

Would it not be cheaper to franchise tag him and then sign him long term?

He should have a couple of guys stake out his house.  The second he steps out, take him and bring him here.  Do not let him leave until he signs.

Give him an offer he can't refuse.

I was talking to my buddy about this and cap space came up. Does Denver have enough cap to resign him? I think they will use the franchise on him this year and try to work out a deal going forward.

GO JAGS!!

What the Broncos will do is tag Von Miller to prevent him from testing the market during contract negotiations.

You really have no idea, but you think you are an expert on all things Denver.

What is even more likely is that before any of that happens he signs the long term deal. From the sounds of it yesterday he said he is more than willing to work with Elway and there were no issues.

I only say what NFL.com reported. That was the report, originally coming from Ian Rapoport.

Would it? I'm not being sarcastic, serious question.

Players hate being tagged. The guy just won the Super Bowl MVP... Why not just go ahead and sign him?

He'll have a new contract soon.

I know very little about cap matters but signing the franchise tag would pay him the average of like the top 5 earners at his position wouldn't it? His deal is going to be a mega deal so the average of the top 5 earners is likely to be less than signing a new deal I think

Again I know very little so am likely quite wrong.

The rumors I hear are that they will tag him only if they can't  come together on a deal and just need to keep him in place while they continue to negotiate.  I think he'll sign a major deal before they have to do that personally.

They want to come together on a deal, but Von is going to ask for (and deserve) the biggest non QB contract in history, and the Broncos are of course going to balk at that for a while...especially since they have a lot of other impact FA they need to try to retain. I'd be very surprised if they agree to a long term deal before the franchise tag deadline passes.

Obviously ^ that's a possibility as well.  I just have a feeling they get it done.

Considering Von Miller wants to be the NFL's richest linebacker and Denver needs to cut some players to make that happen, the Broncos probably need to tag him before other teams start making offers. Ian Rapoport tweeted he will get the tag for that reason.
