1st Round Mock Anyone?

#61

Quote:Who said trade back into the first round? I said trade up to the top of the 2nd (pick #32 this year) and take Henry, who would be our STARTER and Yeldon would be a good back-up. Come on, Fail-bones. LOL.

I'm not a big Henry fan. I think he's the next Ron Dayne/Toby Gerhart.

There are a lot of people on this message board that bother me a lot more than she does. I don't understand why people have such a problem with her.

Try this: think of this message board as just an interaction between you and your computer. Everything that comes back is computer generated. There are no real people on the other end.

Saw one mock like this where Bosa, Ramsey and Jack are all available. I know some of it, well a lot of it, will depend on what they do in Free Agency, but what do you do today if this scenario were presented to you?

1. TEN - OT Laremy Tunsil

2. CLE - QB Jared Goff

3. S.D. - OT Ronnie Stanley

4. DAL - QB Carson Wentz

5. JAC - ?

I think I'd go with Ramsey. Fowler will be coming back, and DE is very deep. There will be a good DE available in the top of the 2nd, but Free Safety may be slim pickings.

Bosa, 2nd choice would be Jack

Yeah, leaning this way as well.

Yeah, I wouldn't be mad if we got Bosa in the 1st, Free Safety Darian Thompson in the 2nd, Cam Chancellor at SS from the Seahawks (heard this on the radio today) and Fowler back.

As long as the LB's held up and stayed healthy, the defense would be much improved.

Sort of depends on how FA goes, but I think I'd take Jack. He and Telvin would be a crazy LB duo.

I go Bosa, there are a lot good safeties in this draft too, I cant pass up a top tier DE for a S at number 5

Quote:First version, pre-combine thoughts are....

1. TEN - OT Laremy Tunsil

2. CLE - QB Carson Wentz

3. S.D. - S/CB Jalen Ramsey

4. DAL - LB Myles Jack

5. JAC - DE Joey Bosa

6. BAL - OT Ronnie Stanley

7. S.F. - QB Jared Goff

8. MIA - DE/OLB Noah Spence

9. TAM - CB Vernon Hargreaves

10. NYG - DE Shaq Lawson

11. CHI - DE DeForest Buckner

12. N.O. - DT Jarran Reed

13. PHI - DT A'Shawn Robinson

14. OAK - CB Mackensie Alexander

15. L.A. - QB Paxton Lynch

16. DET - WR Laquon Treadwell

17. ATL - DE Emmanuel Ogbah

18. IND - OT Taylor Decker

19. BUF - DT Robert Nkemdiche

20. NYJ - RB Ezekiel Elliott

21. WAS - LB Reggie Ragland

22. HOU - RB Derrick Henry

23. MIN - LB Darron Lee

24. CIN - LB Jaylon Smith

25. PIT - CB Eric Apple

26. SEA - OT Jack Conklin

27. G.B. - DT Andrew Billings

28. K.C. - DT Sheldon Rankins

29. ARI - OLB Leonard Floyd

30. DEN - DE Jonathan Bullard

31. CAR - DE Kevin Dodd

Dallas could easily take Joey Bosa, but they may need LB more, and Jack is a special talent. If they don't take him, the Jags probably would if Ramsey is gone. Spence flies all the way up to #8 to the Dolphins. I think WR Treadwell runs a pretty slow 40 and falls all the way to 16 to Detroit, which will be perfect for them. If Derrick Henry falls to round 2, we should trade up to #32 with the Browns to get him. (provided we have picked up OC Alex Mack and a FS Eric Weddle in Free Agency). I don't care if we have Yeldon. T.J. could be a good #2 complement back, just like he was at Alabama.

Your thoughts on how the first 5 shake out and my other picks here?

TJ was the starter period. Henry was the spell guy. Henry did not start till 2015

Quote:Cann will be LG, Linder will come back at RG, and hopefully Alex Mack is signed again this year to play Center and Browns can't stop it this time. That would give us all the more reason to draft Henry, so he could run through those big holes to the END ZONE. Yeldon pitter-patters around and will never be a scoring threat on every play. He is better suited as a 3rd down back or a good back-up, IMO.

Yeldon better suited as a 3rd down back? Ha! Smh

We ain't drafting Henry in the 2nd. We got bigger issues.

This is what it all boils down to.

At least one of those three will be there when we pick and they're all very good.

I think we pretty much have to address FS in free agency. I dont see how we can risk missing on the best FS prospects in the draft (or having to reach for one), and with Weddle and Gipson probably available, and maybe Berry (unlikely) the options to pick one up are there.

Assuming we do that I'd pass on Ramsey(, and try for Karl Joseph in the second). I really like Jack, but it feels like he plays like Telvin. If Gus thinks he can make it work having them as the LB core then I'd probably pick Jack, if not both Bosa and Spence have character concerns, so its just how you grade them out. I'd probably go for Bosa.

Yes, you are right, Yeldon was listed as the starter. But he began to lose ground to Henry in 2014. That year they both had just under 1000 yards, and Henry had one more TD. By the end of the season, it was clear who the better back was. And in 2015 Henry showed what he could do when he was not sharing the load. Both benefited from a great O-line though.

Bottom line is, if you had a choice between the two to start for the Jags next year, who would you pick? I know who I would.

Yeldon easily, Henry cant make people miss nor will he have the huge holes to run in when he gets to the NFL. A kicker in the 3rd too right? Lol smh

I guess this is the mock draft thread?

MOJOKING Mock Draft Top-5 V-1.1

1. Titans - Laremy Tunsil OT - Gotta protect Mariota, I don't buy for a second they go Ramsey

2. Browns - Carson Wentz QB - Even if they get RG3 they cannot seriously rely on him to be the starter. Draft the Wentz

3. Chargers - Jeremy Ramsey S - I personally think this is a reach, when drafting this high for a S or CB, he better be the next Ed Reed or Deon Sanders, I don't think Ramsey is.

4. Cowboys - Joey Bosa DE - They desperately need to retool their D-Line

5. Jaguars - Myles Jack OLB - I think the Jags are looking for speed and athleticism on D vs a prototypical 4-3 RDE. Myles Jack can do it all cover, rush, and perhaps most importantly tackle consistently. Jack also doesn't have the character concerns and fulfills two pressing needs, LB and Pass Rusher.
