Jaguars willing to trade back...?

#21

I still think if Jack is there they pull the trigger. Linebacker is the only position that wasn't addressed in Free Agency and if Skuta is moving to more of a LEO role then we now have a huge gapping hole to fill. It just makes too much sense.

Hmmm...thinking aloud for a second...

Jags trade 5 to Los Angeles for...

Pick 15 in 1st round & DE Robert Quinn

At 15 we take Ragland...?

Would you double up on pass rusher...with Ogbah maybe...?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I'd take McKenzie or Apple.

I would probably look at either Alexander or Apple at that point unless someone like Lawson is still available. I would look at pass rusher in round 2 as I feel one of the second tier pass rushers will fall.

I wouldn't double up on pass rusher. CB- Alexander/Apple or LB- Ragland/Lee.

Just imagining if Quinn is fully healthy and Fowler develops as we want him too. Savages coming off the edge.

I wish this was a realistic scenario
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Marks and Jackson.... Savages on the inside.

I would take Hargreaves, I think he will drop because Apple will be the 1st CB taken. In the 2nd round I would take Cody Whitehair he can play about anywhere on the line and would be a good player to plug in at center. If not start him at LG and move Cann inside. Third round I would take Deion Jones LB.

Imagine our defense with Folwer and Marks coming back from injury. Adding Quinn, Hargreaves, Jackson, Gipson, and Prince to Telvin, House, and Odrick. WOW.

Not to mention our dynamic offense!

GM Dave Caldwell willing to trade back in the draft, but I swear he has said that before... I mean I'm okay with it provided he gets something worth wild for it (and not a 4th round pick for example but rather next years 1st).

The fact that he doesnt want to trade out of the 10s makes me think Vernon CB might be the pick?

Would you do Vikes 1st and 2nd plus Trae Waynes for number 5?

I would

I am pretty sure that the Vikings wouldn't give up their highest paid drafted cornerback from last year's draft & a 1st & 2nd pick, but what GM wouldn't take that deal?

I could be wrong but a #5 pick is probably worth this years first round pick (between 10 and 19 as GM Dave Caldwell said is around 1300 to 875, a #5 is 1700) so for example

the team might get this years 14th pick and next years expected 1st round 31st pick if a team thought they were really close for example...

In this scenario 14th being Raiders if they had felt by drafting #5 they would have a chance of going far enough into the playoffs

Although I doubt the Raiders would do that, maybe the Redskins whom are at 21 (which I dont know if Dave wants to go that far down, if he did I expect a 2nd round pick in addition to next years 1st).

There are a bunch of teams that you could make an argument for a need at QB, and a pick at or close to the cap that Dave hinted he may trade back to....

49ers 1-7

Bears 1-11

Saints 1-12

Rams 1-15

He. (being Caldwell) Says this EVERY year!!!!!! give it up! he will also tell you he is willing to trade up. He will also tell you he is happy staying put at 5. Caldwell keeps everything close to me. Nothing and everything he says should not be taken any certain way. He has shown he is confutable sitting at his spot in one and taking HIS GUY!!!! no one else knew or saw the Bortles pick coming!

There's a scenario were we pick up Myles Jack if we fall back to #15.  Draft night is on a full moon and everybody forgets that Myles Jack exists.  They just all say, "Ahhh fiddlesticks!  We coulda gotten him!  Oh well."  So whammo, Caldwell hands in the draft card.  After that, all the Jaguars cheerleaders pick me up in a Ferrarri limo from Sherwood's (the best bar ever), but instead of partying in the back of the limo, I decide to drive because I rule.  I rule so hard that everyone gets off I-95 and I book it all the way to New York to tell Caldwell good job.  He thanks me and gives me a fafillion dollars, so I call Shad Khan and say "lemme borrow that yacht player," he says "I won't even charge you because you rule so hard."  So then I get on the yacht with all the babe cheerleaders.  They all say "Oh Bman, you're the coolest."  I say, "I know," then I wink at all of them, except when I wink it's dang awesome the ocean trembles and forms a tidal wave.  I look at that tidal wave and say "Settle down sucka!  Don't make me break your face, fool!"  The wave disperses and immediately apologizes by throwing tons of gold onto Khans' yacht, which is now my gold.  After that, I take all that money and I'm able to pay my Comcast bill.

Two problems:

The draft is in Chicago

And why would you drive instead of spending hours in the back of a limo with hot cheerleaders?
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS

The trading down part, or the trading of a pro bowl DE part?

Chandler Jones was just traded to Arizona for a bust (G Jonothan Cooper) and a 2nd round pick.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/149805...draft-pick

Years ago, Sean Jones was traded from the Raiders to the Oilers...

http://www.nytimes.com/1988/04/22/sports...trade.html

Pro Bowl DE/OLB Charles Haley was traded to Dallas for 2nd and 3rd round picks...

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/24436...tml?pg=all

Pro Bowl DE Kevin Carter was traded by the Rams to the Tacks in 2001.

Trading accomplished pass rushers is admittedly unusual, though, not unprecedented.

The Rams have already dismantled their defense to a large degree, dumping Chris Long, Laurinaitis, and Janoris Jenkins.

They are in desperate need of a QB.  Acquiring a QB after a move would be consistent with what Fisher has done in the past.  When the Oilers moved from Houston to Tennessee, they drafted McNair in the first round.

It isn't likely to happen.

The Jaguars may need to throw in a mid round pick to balance it out, even in a very best case scenario.

But I would not say it would never happen, because history shows it has and can.
