I drafted mcmanus in the 16th and bortles in the 15th last year in FF. Also drafted Luck in the 1st and Cj Anderson in the 2nd......either way brought home that championship

Quote:Draft history is not just Caldwell. It is a lot worse from our previous Gm's. Anywayz Denard probably gone this year or next and would not have played if our rbs were not so poor. Smith prly gone and Rashad had one good play although he might still have a chance (maybe). And like I said earlier in this thread then there is Telvin. Look I sort of get it but it is not as taboo as a few like to make it.
If the kid didn't play at FSU, this would be a non issue.

Draft history actually is just Caldwell, since he is the only one in our history with influence on the future. Nothing else from the past is an indicator.

Whether we want him or not, I don't think Caldwell will draft a kicker.

If we trade back and gain some extra picks I wouldn't mind drafting him in the 4th.

Dude.....

People please. Stop being stupid. It's a kicker. No reason to take one in any round.... At all.

"Yea but Myers lost us games!"

Well he also drilled a 58 yarder for a win. So whatever. Gostkowski missed an XP in the playoffs. Blair Walsh (a good kicker) missed a gimme for a win in the playoffs. Aguayo is not some perfect kicker who never misses. He misses plenty.

I just said that because many of our low rounders will be lucky if they make the roster. Many of them will end up on the practice squad. Myers wasn't impressive what so ever, I think the position needs a upgrade.

4th round is not a low rounder.  Thats a mid round pick.  If our 4th round pick dont make this roster he just missed on the pick.  There are other positions that need to be upgraded much more than the kicker.

Do yourself a favor and go back and look at Caldwells mid rounders. You'll find Telvin Smith, Denard, Rashad Greene.....

Taking a kicker in anything but the 7th is just down right dumb. You can upgrade the position with players off the street.... Just like the Steelers did with Boswell.

Just a reminder Telvin Smith was a 5th round pick, Colvin was a 4th. Remember Rashad Greene and Michael Bennett. Oh ya..........

Why all the hate on Myers? He's got a Canon for a leg, Give the second year player some more time to develop and gain confidence and he may just end up being an elite kicker that nails 60 yarders

Aguayo could only dream of having Myers leg.

Can't believe this is a serious conversation.

Myers will be fine, he's a young kid who's still developing.

agree, I want to stick with Myers as well. You cant teach that leg and I think he will improve on xpt

I really am tired of the Myers hate on here. yes, he missed more extra points than anyone else (7), but there were several kickers close to that, 71 extra points were missed last year in all, the most since 1977. Myers was also 26-30 on Field goal attempts, I think we all remember 2 of those misses from 50+, the one really bad shank from like 27, and I don't recall the other one off the top of my head. The kid will be fine. Dave will bring in a camp leg for competition, but it would shock me if a kicker was drafted.
