I think with the extra points being moved back having a reliable accurate fg kicker is becoming more important. Do we consider drafting this guy as college footballs most accurate kicker ever. I would not be against it if he is there in the 4th or 5th round. Thoughts?

Go away Gene.

If he's one of the best kicking prospects to come out in a while and a surefire thing, then I'm good with a 5th. But no higher

Caldwell said he signed Nortman because he didn't want to use a draft pick on a punter. I think he may feel the same way about using a pick on a kicker.

Id be fine drafting him in the 5th, would be nice to have a great kicker for years to come.

I feel drafting a kicker is a position of luxury unless it's your last pick or something. Myers can still pan out and there's obviously much more pressing needs than a kicker. I wouldn't be fine with it, especially not in the 5th. So many more useful players will be floating around, Caldwell has proven that he's a superb mid-late drafter. He'd probably laugh at the idea of grabbing a kicker in the 5th

Wouldn't take him any higher than the 5th, and he won't be there in the 5th. Someone will take him on the 4th, pretty sure it won't be us.

I'd take him in the 6th or 7th. I'd rather have him over Neal Sterling or Ben Koyack... He'd be an elite special teams player that could win us games from the 58 yard line.

He'll make Janikowski look like Hayden Epstein. If he somehow makes it past San Diego, we need to do whatever it takes to swap picks with Dallas for him. Tampa would definitely try and jump us for him if they could do it by only giving up a second-round pick, so we need to beat them to the punch and send next year's first-rounder to the Cowboys. I mean, the Bucs know how desperate we are for a weapon at that position after betting big on 24-of-38 last year and being tanked in the worst possible way.

So I guess nobody would have rather won the Indy game last year. Amazing how touchy some are here about a kicker because of Gene. A great kicker is definetly diff than a punter. What are caldwells good late picks? Telvin is all I can think of Mccray did not contribute last year. 3rd and earlier he has been good. Joekel aside but I will give him a pass on Joke.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in for a 5th. But based on Caldwell's comments about a punter I assume he may feel the same way about a kicker.

On the flip side if we're looking to upgrade the position McManus is available and was pretty good last year.

Aguayo is very accurate but he doesn't have elite power. You're not going to like him up from 56 and expect him to make it. Now, u see 45 yards he's money. The extra points he is probably As good as you're gonna get.

He just wasn't that great in the very long field goals as well as kickoffs

No way he's there in the 5th.  I wouldn't be surprised if he was taken in the 3rd.  Yes, the 3rd.
