This is what I come back to after a couple months of the site being down? 

 

What an absolutely poor decision and travesty for us passionate Jaguars fans. This forum was the only place where we could formulate and express our feelings, thoughts, comments, and debates to fellow fans regardless of where we stood. 

 

I have been here for many, many years (far before my joined date on this account) and I can say without any doubt that this is a big blow to us fans… 

 

There is no way in hell that 140 characters or certain social media platforms could provide what this message board has for all of us - i.e. developing friendships with fellow Jags fans, venue for expressing thoughtful debate (not just "BORTLES SUCKS", "Fire ___", etc ,etc…) and more.

 

This long run was a blast to be a part of with all of you guys and gals. Thank you for bringing whats makes you unique to this message board (and yes, even TMD and TTR lol). It's too bad that this MB won't be available to us hopefully when our beloved Jags are on the rise again.

This isn't a money move.  It's a decision tied to the social media strategy the team has been developing for the past few years.  They don't see this forum as being necessary with so many other avenues already in place.  They're not averse to criticism.  They've grown to expect it because it existed even when things were going well.

 

I can see that being the case.  Social media is a cess pool that makes this forum look like a safe place.  Between bias machine learning and algorithms, I hate the whole feed/post wall concept.  At least in a forum you can search my posts out and call me out more rapidly.  In the swamp of facebook/twitter, you can do the same but all your doing is lining their pockets.

 

I want to support the team not the Silicon Valley crowd.

I'll go ahead and echo everyone else's frustration with this news.  This is a place I've checked almost on a daily basis, as it usually gets Jags news faster than any other source (aside from Twitter).  Hope to see some of the same people around on another site/method, whichever becomes the main meeting place.

I echo with what alot of people are saying. This is absolute garbage, I kinda feel like one of best friends is in hospice dying, and I know the exact date they will die. I've been on this board for over a decade, since before my join date. I never posted that often that's why my count is low, but I came here every day. We where a community, and I grew to like or know what to expect from the regulars. This is a sad day. Is there no way to keep it up after, like could the admins not keep it going?

Exactly, I used to ignore those emails thinking it was a scam.  Then I sent $500 then $1,000 and then $2,500.   Now, I'm finally getting really good updates from them as they continue in their efforts to get the inheritance released.
