***OFFICIAL - Way Too Early Look at Green Bay Thread***

Quote:What game tape do you have that shows Nelson can still separate deep at age 31 barely a year from ACL surgery against a prospect like Ramsey?i have no idea of his health, ive been going on the assumption he will be full go because theres no argument in guessing for anything less. But 31 isnt that old for top receivers idk why were making that a point of focus. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Coming back to elite form at 31 will be a very tough task. Making him less of a headache to cover in general.
Regardless I think thet put Ramsey on Cobb. Should be a good test for the rook
Agreed. I think with Ramsey you have to play him against the opponent's fastest overall receiver. Cobb is that guy in Green Bay's offense. House and Amukamara have been around long enough to keep up with a veteran like Nelson. The key, as always with quarterbacks like Rodgers though is getting after them and staying on them with the front four. You can't send too many at him he's smart enough to audible out of those situations. But this when you hope to see guys like Fowler, Jackson and the newly drafted pass rushers step up and shine.

The fastest receiver on Green Bays roster is Jeff Janis, Cobb is more quick than fast. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Yeah. But how often does Janis see the field? In a typical starting rotation for GB Cobb is featured the most. He's their fastest guy out there at times. Nelson is more quick than fast too. He has to build up steam. He's like Fitzgerald in a sense that he can out muscle and position his body for the football better than most. We'll see how it shakes out. Would be interesting to see Ramsey on Nelson in Week One though.

If we found out anything, it's that Cobb is less effective without Nelson. Strategically speaking, Ramsey neutralizing Nelson would be best.

Man.
This defense hasn't played a snap together and people on here think we are gonna stop the best QB in the league. I'm excited just like everyone else but come on....

But I think our defense has the chance to match up at least competently against the better passing attacks for the first time in a decade. Forget the rookies for a second. Let's just look at the proven guys on our roster. When was the last time this defense had a pair of corners as good as House and Amukumara? To be clear, we're not talking Hayes and Haynes, here, but this is the best pair of CBs we've had since Mathis and Williams, and you could argue this pair is more balanced and better overall. When was the last time our secondary had a FS like Gipson? When last did we have the DL depth we have now? Our rotation now includes Marks, Jackson, Odrick, Miller, Bennett, Jones. The only position remaining on the defensive line where we didn't add a proven player is LEO. Granted, it's an important position to be sure. But do you deny that, at least on paper, excluding the rookies, we've improved the defense on two of the three levels? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Man. I think we can win and love the positivity but week 1 the new defense won't be ready to stop the best qb in the game. If we win it'll be because Bortles and company put up 30+. Quote:Cobb is probably the slowest receiver on Green Bay's roster. The kid runs a 4.4 40.... Pretty sure that's fast by NFL standards. He's faster than Nelson. That's for sure. His numbers took a slight hit in 2015 with Nelson being out. BUT, don't forget. In 2014 this kid basically Allen Robinson type numbers as a #2 receiver. Nearly 100 grabs and close to 1300 yards. A pro-bowl type season. If he's the "slowest" receiver on GB I feel sorry for our secondary.... ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Oh they got Jared Cook that TE who played for Tennessee then the Rams. He could be good there because he's never had an actual QB before and Rodgers had a couple good seasons with Finley and even that Rodgers(TE) guy last year was decent. Will be a big test for Jack/Cyp/Sample to start the season
Probably no better QB than Rodgers to show if we actually do finally have some pass rush . If they can get close to old twinkletoes regularly , or heaven forbid sack the fella then I will be excited for the rest of the season.
T.J. Yeldon puts Clay Matthews out of the game.. injury.. not hoping for it simply fact that Yeldon caused a lot of great players to be injured last year..
