50 Dead at Orlando Night Club The Pulse In Act Of Terror

Quote:Wasn't there a bill to ban guns from people on terrorist watch list voted down? Seems there isn't much concern for American safety you are right...

The reasons for that were pretty significant including that no one has to tell you you're on the list, why you're on the list, or how to get off the list.

Quote:What schtick would that be? The kind that proposed that somehow there is a difference between saying terrorism and redical Islamic terrorism. That mentioning the fact that this was a targeted hate crime while also saying it's a terrorist act somehow is "the wrong focus" as if by not mentioning the hate crime part it does anything more than make you guys feel a little better. And let's be honest with each other here. Nothing he says will make you guys happy. That's been clear since election day in 2008. That's the schtick right there.

Well there is a difference between simply saying "terrorism" and "radical Islamic terrorism".  Has President Obama ever used that phrase?

While it appears to be a targeted "hate crime", is it because of the sexuality of the victims, or could it be that the shooter was just after those that don't follow his belief(s)?

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

The most pressing issue right now is Europe and the United States are dealing with a radical islam insurgency.  Our nations are so big we can't keep every little corner protected.  There needs to be some serious reforms to refugee laws, protections put in to deny immigrants from conflict countries weapons, a serious stance on deportation,  and a progressive focus on assimilation programs that are much longer and more difficult for people.

The idea is that the MOST radical christian group christians have don't go around killing people.  Many radical islam groups that go around doing killings aren't radical enough to other camps. its a problem

Whose Father Once Tried to Run for the Afghan Presidency & Supported the Taliban
just a normal us citizen?????  In times like these it wouldn't be a bad idea to make it harder for refugees to get in and to make sure they properly  assimilate

Because a group of people was specifically targeted?

In case you didn't know, those refugees are fleeing terrorism as well.

Also, in the land of the free, how does one properly assimilate?

Let me ask you; do you know any Muslims or have any as friends? I do. In fact I have a Muslim friend that I go hunting with just about every year. Sounds crazy don't it? Alone in the woods with an armed Muslim. How on Earth do I keep making it back alive year after year?

There are bad apples from every walk of life but I'll be damned if I'm going to let the actions of a few nut jobs turn me into a paranoid xenophobe.

Yes, you want our country to let everybody in no questions asked. That's what we are doing... So you win. All in the name of some misplaced feeling of self righteousness that you don't judge others based on nationality.

No, I doubt he has used that term, as it serves the terrorists purpose of tying their beliefs to a religion that doesn't prescribe to their beliefs.

It also seems to go towards overgeneralizing a whole religion as having these extreme demented beliefs.

It isn't like he doesn't get who the enemy is.....

It is a well-thought out mentality to not attack a whole religion, which many people seem to want to do, which then creates a justification for the terrorists.

Because they're all Muslim and may or may not also want to blow stuff up. Or we can just ignore the common denominator with these people and continue to ship them in.

Well not shooting your coworkers, or blowing up a marathon, or shooting up a bar would be a good start.  Maybe accepting people for their freedoms like gay rights even if you don't share their views.

When the terrorism you are fleeing has actively told they are hiding soldiers in the refugee ranks its probably not a good idea to let more refugees in.  When citizens of Al Raqqa are under seige and isis leaders are taking their passports for their soldiers its not a bad idea to be on guard about your border policies.

So let me get this right. A few words can send any one of the members of this group into a murderous rage? Yes by all means lets spend billions of dollars to resettle as many as possible here.

But he is American? Maybe that's where he picked up his hatred of gay people? Plenty of it around.
