Bad tanking.... again

Quote:That's all well and good. But Schaub likely will never start again and the coach will get fired, so why would they be willing to join the tanking?

Well looks like the coach firing is fixing to happen.

However, Schaub's last INT was...

So they put Schaub in so it wouldn't look so much like they were tanking.

By the way, did you notice, Kubiak got fired today.

Another head coach fired after "tanking."    Go figure.   You'd think if he was following orders and losing on purpose, he'd keep his job.

lol, I guess McNair got worried they might win a game and not get Bridgewater like he wanted:  Kubiak was considering starting Schaub, then fired. And now Keenum will start (to ensure the losing continues so they get the top pick that the owner McNair wants)

per rotoworld:

The Texans announced Case Keenum will start in Week 15 against the Colts.

Coach Gary Kubiak said after Thursday night's loss to the Jaguars that Matt Schaub was an "unbelievable pro" and would be considered for the starting job for the rest of the season. Kubiak was then fired Friday morning. The 2-11 Texans are in full-blown evaluation mode, and it makes no sense to give Schaub anymore starts. His time is likely done in Houston, as well. Keenum has struggled mightily in recent weeks. He won't be a recommended fantasy option.

So what do you get out of trolling this message board? I know you don't actually believe this tanking garbage. All you are doing is taking whatever Houston is doing and saying that proves they are tanking.

Keep Kubiak - Proves they are tanking

Fire Kubiak - Proves they are tanking

Playing Schaub - Proves they are tanking

Playing Keenum - Proves they are tanking

I would also be willing to bet that Bob McNair may only have vague knowledge of who Teddy Bridgewater is, if he even knows at all.

You haven't figured it out yet? He gets responses. He gets people talking to and about him. He gets popularity. What he says really isn't important just as long as people -- and here I am playing along like a sucker -- talk about him. That's what he gets.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Tanking comes from the owner in all cases. Its happening here with Houston for Bridgewater, and it happened in 2011 with Luck, when Irsay had vision of Luck leading the team to playoffs for the next decade before his drafting.

You seriously don't think that McNair isn't VERY familiar with who Bridgewater is? lolwut???? Laughing

Damn man. You're flopping around like a fish on land. First orders come from on high to order tanking. Then Schaub throws an intentional int, which obviously must have been ordered from on high. Now that he followed orders, he's not going to start anymore. Does that mean he loses his hush money too.

Man, do you write all this looney stuff down because I don't know how you keep track.

Why is that so difficult to believe? Do you think McNair spends his Friday night watching AAC clash between Louisville and UCF?

I have always maintained that the tanking orders come from the owner. That has never, nor will ever change.

If you want to be gullible and naive and pretend Houston isn't tanking, be my guest.

Indy tanked in 2011 for Luck and Houston is tanking this season for Bridgewater. Most people see this except for those that choose not to.

When Jax is mired for 3rd place in the division behind those 2 teams for the next decade with those 2 QB's, you'll still be pretending that those 2 teams never tanked, lol.

Um read the thread title. It deals with the tanking. Too bad you're mad because people like me (but far from only me) don't have our head in the sand and can see that the Texans and Colts tanked./ are tanking for their QB of the next decade.

The Colts via Irsay's call tanked in 2011. The Texans via McNair's call are tanking now. Deal with it and accept it. Or, as said, pretend its not happening....whatever

Quote:Am I happy our team won? You bet! I think or maybe its hope that someway, somehow, we'll still get the players we desperately need to improve to a consistent winning playoff team.....

That said....ain;t no one gonna convince me that the Texans aren't tanking for that first pick. That last couple drives were ridiculous.....Schaub had the WR open on the route on 4th down.....

and on the play that was the game winning INT, Schaub literally threw it right at our defender.

The Colts tanked in 2011 and the Texans are tanking this year.

But I don't care as long as we still get the right players to make us consistent winners anyway.....
A tanking team does not play NE the way they did, period!!!!!

Quote:I'm not dismissing the fact that there were signs of trouble for the team.  But, winning the division and posting 12 wins a year ago will normally give a head coach some leeway with the owner when the team goes through the kind of struggles Houston has this year.  The team has been over-hyped and hasn't lived up to expectations.

They showed signs they were headed in the right direction last year, and that success had them installed as one of the favorites this year.  It fell apart pretty quickly for them, and I certainly won't shed a tear, but I don't think the fact that Kubiak hasn't been fired is some sign they're tanking.

Even if it's true they're tanking, so what?  Unless you really think Bridgewater is going to be this sure thing franchise QB, I tend to think they're actually doing the Jaguars a favor.  That's IF they pick him.  It's possible they could decide to go with Clowney instead.  I think I'd be more disappointed by that than Bridgewater.
I was joking btw about the keeping Kubiak as evidence of tanking. I have no illusions of Teddy being awesome, I really have no clue about that I don't watch him. But apparently McNair saw my joke and decided to get rid of the punchline...

I do have a question: Does hush money for tanking count against cap space?  Someone should research that.  If it does, we should have extra money this year.

So the owner comes into the room, and says "you guys need to lose so we can get a future hall of fame qb"? Then he tells the coach he will be fired for the losing season, and the coach is on board with that? Makes sense! Pretty sure the only gullible ones, are the ones agreeing with you.

Don't be foolish.  How can hush money be called 'hush' if the owner tells everyone?  I'm sure the order is passed along in a dark alley somewhere with a stuffed envelope passed discreetly to the coach.

Bah, Seattle is better than the Colts, even if your tanking theory is true, I think our way beats their way, Guaranteed...Wait that's a sub commercial...

The point being that Seattle never tanked, and they look like the best team in the league. I think their way is better, and I think we are going their way.

Quote:I am going to get flamed for this I am sure... I love seeing the team do well, especially the defense and the young players... but come on... didnt we learn our lesson 2 years ago!?

We could now be picking as far back as 7th or 8th...

what on earth are we doing?

this team so desperately needs a franchise QB, or hell.. a franchise player PERIOD

we are once again setting ourselves up for that [BAD WORD REMOVED] "moral victory" crap only to possibly miss out on more franchise changing talent... smh....

Teddy is a great talent.. but I personally don't believe he is as far ahead of some of the QBs in this class as some think. He is the #1... but not as far ahead.
