Derek Carr Watch

The kid is also a genius compared with other prospects.

Carr’s ratio of 108 TD passes to 21 INTs is the best of any FBS QB with at least 100 TD passes.

Quote:How come non of the mediot pundits rate Carr that high?

Cause he doesn't play in the SEC/Big12/Big10 and all his games come on later on the west coast.  Teddy isn't in the SEC, but has been playing as well as he has for two straight seasons, and his games are mostly on eastern time.

Edit - and his brother was who he was.

What did HeeRo ever say that was ban worthy? He has never been nearly as degrading as some of the other people in this thread.

Posting from multiple accounts is my guess.

Must've missed the part where he encouraged a bunch of racists from another forum to make accounts here.

I liked what I've seen out of Carr and he definitely doesn't have any weaker competition than Teddy.  His arm and accuracy are great.  Footwork can be taught.  May not get a shot at him though, if GMs and scouts think he's got what it takes.  Houston and Minnesota both need QBs.  Cleveland may get ahead of us too.

I think that Bridgewater, Carr, and Manziel are far and away the best QBs in this class. And the best part is that they all fit, to varying degrees, the mobile, yet well-armed passer that is becoming the standard for the modern QB.

How many NFL QBs have radically improved their footwork in the NFL? It's not easy. Just ask Stafford and Cutler, who both have terrible mechanics but get by on arm talent.

I'd have to think about that and do a comparison.  Most recently, maybe Cam Newton?  That's just off the top of my head, although maybe it wasn't a radical change.

Son,  when you can make every throw off your backfoot who the hell cares about your footwork.

This dude is better than Teddy Bridgewater.

Bigger frame, bigger arm, just as good an athlete, same command of his respective offense.

But here's where is counts:

He not only CAN make every throw, he DOES make every throw: Outs, Fades, Streaks, Back-shoulder, in-stride, on the run. He even shows the grasp of the game as he calls plays at the line.

Haven't seen Carr play this year and I hate that. He is intriguing. I haven't taken time to read through all the pages on this thread but how is his footwork? Watching highlights of Gabb at Mizzou you can see his terrible footwork and that really hurts his throwing. Cam also had bad mechanics and foot work but he is one of the most athletic guys on the planet. I don't think that's something that can be taught over a few years. Cam and a few others who have a great arm are the exception not the rule

Carr's footwork is horrible but he has twice the stones of Gabbert. Much better leader, more accurate, more willingness to utilize his arm talent.

LOL, bye bye.  The more you post and the more bets you make, the dumber you look!  Haha, Vagrantwade did exactly as he wanted "clean this place up from all of the ultra casual fans we have ruining the college board." I am embarrassed for you!

I guess we'll get a look against a decent(?) Utah St. tomorrow. The Mountain West championship game is on at 10pm EST Saturday on CBS.

Utah St has the 11th overall ranked defense in the country according to CBSSports, one where Fales mightily struggled.  If Carr plays well, the Jags will definitely not be in position to draft him and will be better off waiting for a QB in the following rounds.

His footwork WAS horrible, last year. This year I would describe them as just bad. His footwork/balance transfer has improved a good bit this year.
