Allen Robinson

Career high in his first full season?

That would kind suck unless he averages something less beastly from here on out...

Quote:I think the passing game numbers will come down just a little bit more this year for a few obvious reasons. Robinson and Hurns are officially being recognized by the players now. So look for better play and schemes against them. But, also. I think we're going to be more committed to running the football this year. And I also think Thomas and Lee will be more involved as long as health permits. The only way this team can continue to grow is by spreading the wealth. And Lee, Greene and Thomas will be apart of that wealth distribution.

I feel like Greene has a real shot of emerging as a secret weapon. Like you said, the other players now recognize the Allens, and they've long recognized Julius despite a subpar first season with the Jaguars. Teams at least early on may feel like they're dealing with the Jaguars offense by also taking out their OTA underwear champion Marqise Lee, when lo-and-behold Greene starts catching slants and taking them for huge gains. Keep in mind that Greene in open space is just about as dangerous as it gets. Then throw a quick trick play to Corey Grant and they won't know what hit them.

You and Corey Grant. He might not make the team.

Yeah this Corey Grant nonsense needs to stop. He shouldn't and isn't going to make this team.

Quote:As nice as it would be for ARob to duplicate what he did this year or even surpass it we don't want to fall into the one man show trap like the Lions did with Megatron.

With our current depth chart i think we're far from that
Season Tix, Section 409

2023 and still counting.....SB will finally be ours soon enough.

This ^^^^^^

Jag02, yes he has speed and that's it. He will be bagging groceries after 1st or 2nd cuts.

I made this thread initially thinking there was no way he could beat the past years stats. There is a huge chance he beats it this year. His reception total might reach 100. GO  JAGS!!!!!!!!

I think he is capable of beating it. We should be hoping that the rest of the team is more capable and we don't need a big play from him every drive of every game to succeed. We think of the top receivers in the NFL today Julio Jones, O'Dell Beckham Jr., Dez Bryant, A.J. Green, Antonio Brown and Allen Robinson (in no particular order). Only A.J. Green's team has been going to the playoffs (lost every time). It isn't a good thing when one player dominates the stat sheet unless you share his bank account. It's like what MJD did for us for a few years. If we're going to go on another 3 to 5 win season then by all means the sky is the limit with AR15.

No pain, no gain.

I agree Josh, but for all the receivers you named theres no compliment receiver. A1hurns is out there as well as Julius Thomas.  Opponents have to respect them otherwise... I mean cmon. What I see in Robinson is more receptions and yards. I dont know about the TDS, but I sure hope so!

I think everyone is missing a point Robinson improved his route running he also is working on his efficiency, in other words more production on chances given. Also the way he looks almost virtually uncover-able it is more than a possibility.. All a better defense does is gives him more opportunities and all a running games does is gives him more one on ones opportunities . If that happens look out.

In a re-draft is he the first WR taken, or still after Odell? I believe he was the 6th or 7th WR picked that year. I'm not sure I'd trade him for Sammy Watkins, Kelvin Benjamin or even Odell.

Odell goes first and then Robinson.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I feel like if Robinson was a Giant, and Odell was a Jag, they would be switched. Robinson would be the greatest thing since slices bread.

From a longevity and athleticism standpoint, I think Robinson is the better player. He just plays in a small market.

I would find it very hard to trade Allen Robinson for anyone in the league to be honest with you.

He's only 22 still. Will be 23 this year.  He's young, he's big, and is a playmaker.  He has the playing style that translates well into a long career of success.  He doesn't have elite speed or quickness, which is actually a good thing long term.  He gets open and catches everything thrown his way without the fastest guy out there.

Some other receivers who rely on speed drop off quickly after they lose half a step.

And if OBJ were a Jag, we would all be saying "no way would I trade Beckham for Allen Robinson"

OBJ now maybe, but I'd bet ARobs game will age a lot more gracefully.

Yeah pretty much. Both are great players. I'm happy we have Robinson though. Odell is a bit of a diva. Allen Robinson's personality kind of reminds me of a Jimmy Smith type.

They're definitely 1A, 2A, or 1B. Odell is awesome. Anyone else I wouldn't think of trading places with.....

Indeed. Though, ARob gives me more Fitz. Larry Fitz is your All American choir boy star athlete who 'may' not care for debauchery too much. Smooth was a good pro with a bad boy edge, and record. But I get ya. Diva wise ODB = TO/Randy. ARob = Marvin Harrison/Tory Holt. Give me Marv n Tory.
