I think we got the most out of him last year with playing from behind and no running game.

 So much will depend on opportunities and game situations ( as JagFanatic24 referred to ).   As long as Allen Robinson remains relatively healthy,  he should continue to ascend.   Yet,  with the array of quality skill players the Jaguars have and an expected improved Defense,  Robinson's stats might not quite reflect his talent.

As has been stated dozens of times this offseason - Robinson and Bortles will both likely see a small decrease in statistic production as the running game gains momentum and more balance is achieved.

Why do people assumed that because the defense has gotten better and a stable of running backs the production of the passing offense is going to go down? If anything, the production is going to go up because if the defense is better that means more opportunities for the offense base on giving them having more possessions by turnovers created by the defense and better field position. I never heard an offense even a great one kneel the ball down in the third quarter or even at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

They abandoned the run in a handful of games last year, and I don't think that will have to happen as often this season. Improved interior line plus an ivory/Yeldon tandem will likely mean an increase in rushing attempts.


I see Bortles pass numbers taking a 10% dip.


But you never know, game situations and match ups may give Bortles and Robinson enough big games to have similar numbers to last season.


As long as the number of wins increases - I don't care what Blake and Allen's stat lines are.

I agree. And I generally think the offensive production will decrease, but then you can look at a team like Arizona and see legitimate reason for how a better defense could help the offense

   This also would increase the chances of Blake Bortles staying in one piece. When you have to throw the ball 50 times a game,  the opposing Defense is going to tee off repeatedly.  That by itself can make a good pass blocking Offensive Line look mediocre in a hurry and a mediocre pass blocking Offensive Line look bad.

I'm envisioning a little more focus on the running game along with a lot more focus on Julius Thomas come September. I'm also envisioning this team remaining stocked with weapons and options on offense. Most likely, this past season will go down as ARob's career high. I'm not saying he can't top it, but we're talking about a truly great season that won't be easy to duplicate, let alone beat.

The overall offensive stats should certainly improve, however, individual player stats just might be spread out a bit more among players.

I think the passing game numbers will come down just a little bit more this year for a few obvious reasons. Robinson and Hurns are officially being recognized by the players now. So look for better play and schemes against them. But, also. I think we're going to be more committed to running the football this year. And I also think Thomas and Lee will be more involved as long as health permits. The only way this team can continue to grow is by spreading the wealth. And Lee, Greene and Thomas will be apart of that wealth distribution.

It's ridiculous to think that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th passing options (not even mentioning the RBs) are that talented.
