Gene Wilder -- star of classics like "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," "Blazing Saddles," "Young Frankenstein" and more -- has died.

 

He was 83.

I can't imagine Willy Wonka without him, either.  As well as they tried, it's still head and shoulders above the remake.

Gene Wilder was always one of my favorites.  A truly gentle soul, and a talented actor.  RIP.

My daughter sent me a text about this earlier. A couple of weeks ago Willy Wonka was on TV, which is her only exposure to Gene Wilder. She asked me if he had been in any other movies and I then explained that he was a very popular actor at one time. There's a large number of young adults and children who only knew him as Willy Wonka. Not a bad legacy.

Stir Crazy, Haunted Honeymoon and Silver Streak we very underrated movies.. Gene and Richard Pryor rocked pretty hard..
