Debate 9/26/16 - Trump vs Clinton
|
Quote:Trump's vision of America is that everyone is unsafe. Everything sucks. We lose everywhere. Nobody but him can fix it. And if you don't believe him, you are to be discredited. He was exposed last night and was completely unprepared. His shtick works when a thousand worshippers are kneeling before him with their mouths wide open, but when he is on his own left to defend his policies and views, he is a scatterbrained clown. Quote:You sound like a liberal democrat. Raise taxes to help people. But free markets and free trade has led to the destruction of American workers and the middle class... Free Market is exploitative and not helpful unless you're a corporation or part of the 1%. It's time to recognize that, I think. Quote:I watched the entire debate, and I thought she won easily. He missed so many opportunities, I am left to wonder, did he prepare at all? It's like he just went out there and winged it for 90 minutes. Emails? Very little. Benghazi? Nothing. Basically admitting he has paid no federal income taxes for the last few years? Wow. He called himself smart for doing that. That will come back to haunt him. She said his tax plan was basically trickle-down tax cuts for the very wealthy. Did he deny it? NO. He just responded that the wealthy will create a lot of jobs with their tax cuts. Basically, all he did was express anger without any specifics. Nafta? He just says it's terrible, it's bad, no specifics to back it up. He says we have crumbling infrastructure, terrible airports, etc, but how would he pay for fixing that when we are $20 trillion in debt? He just says things are terrible, the worst they've ever been, but no specifics beyond that. Think about what you just said. Why didn't he bring this or that up. Almost every question was framed with an editorial hue to favor the left. Openning question essentially "The economy is doing gang busters we're really going now but income inequality is a big problem so how do you redistribute wealth..." What? "Mr. Trump, obviously you are a liar about your support for the Iraq war since you were in favor of it how is your judgement any better than Hillary Clintons..." "Mr. Trump, stop and frisk has been ruled unconstitutional so why are you such a racist?" When the premise of the debate is a fraudulent referendum he had to spend so much of his time correcting the premise that it was hard to pivot and go on offense. It's not that he wasn't prepared, its that he was essentially having to debate 1.5 people. He should expect that. Moving forward he has to have smoother more efficient transitions to Her weaknesses. As for infrastructure, very few people dispute that. I have said several times, this administration ran up 10 trillion dollars in debt and they STILL didn't fix the infrastructure in the country, the schools still have problems, and this Is after a targeted economic stimulus. I thought it was a great point to mention that if we stop throwing bad money at Solyndra and that like then we will have more money to spend on rebuilding the inner cities.

Anybody know who the moderator is for the next debate. If Holt was the "Republican" moderator, Trump may be in some serious trouble next debate.

Quote:But free markets and free trade has led to the destruction of American workers and the middle class... Free Market is exploitative and not helpful unless you're a corporation or part of the 1%. Free markets and free trade aren't inherently the issue. It's just that they are currently designed as one-way streets. We can't trade into China, Japan, Vietnam, or South Korea, but they are free to ship us whatever manufactured goods they want without tariff. A lot of this has to do with unchecked currency manipulation. So why are we even trading with them? Find other trade partners of equal development and PPP. Personally I fail to see how Hillary's tax plan could even possibly encourage growth in the United States. What incentive could their possibly be to start a company or move a company to the United States when you are paying 40% corporate tax rates, 65% upper income rates, and 65% estate tax? I would absolutely move my business or startup in Ireland, Netherlands, or one of the tax haven city-states. This doesn't even take into the fact she is also pro-NAFTA and pro-TPP. I just cant picture the economy growing in any way, shape, or form under her.
Quote:Anybody know who the moderator is for the next debate. If Holt was the "Republican" moderator, Trump may be in some serious trouble next debate. It is a Clinton News Network debate with Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz. I expect a lot of "fact-checking" for Trump and soft balls for Hillary. Seriously, if he doesn't bring up the emails, Benghazi, foundation quid pro quo, women abuse, and primary rigging himself, they will likely never be brought up.

You don't have to spend all your time answering the question. Just give a 5 word answer, and PIVOT to your preferred talking point. He's so completely unprepared it's mind-boggling. Who cares what the question was. Say what you want to say. "Will you accept the results of this election?" Answer: Yes, but what we really need to talk about in terms of having a fair election is... talking point about rigged elections and illegal immigrants voting. "What do you intend to do about cyber security?" Answer: Give two prepared sentences about how great you are going to be in terms of cyber security, and then tie it into her professed ignorance about computers and email systems. Bam! "What makes you think your judgment would be better than hers?" Answer: Because... Clinton Foundation. Bengazi. Email system. Bam! Bam! Bam! These were all questions that were asked. Look at the way she answered the email question: "Sorry. Won't happen again." Who coached him? Does he take coaching at all? Or is he so supremely self-confident he thinks he doesn't need to do any preparation or homework? Losers attack the referees. "The moderators are biased." That's a loser talking.
Why was Donald wearing a blue tie? Haven't seen people talking about it - but blue is dem and red is repub.

It was Trumps first one on one debate. It isn't an easy thing to learn. Apparently some of you want a professional debater to run the country, and that's fine. Just don't expect anything new.
Quote:Why was Donald wearing a blue tie? Haven't seen people talking about it - but blue is dem and red is repub. There is blue in the American Flag. There is also white. Should he have worn white?
im catching up now. i mean, i think enough of the american people can see that Hillary is a politician (same old stuff) and Trump is offering solutions that common sense has been saying we should do for years.

I know, for one thing, the maximum estate tax rate is 40%. I think the maximum personal income tax rate doesn't go much above about 40%, even with the Obamacare special taxes on passive income. I agree the corporate tax rate is too high, and makes us a lot less competitive. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:He doesn't seem to know how to debate! You don't have to spend all your time answering the question. Just give a 5 word answer, and PIVOT Yeah, plus Donald seemed sickly - something was wrong with him. It didn't stop him from interrupting repeatedly though.

Quote:He doesn't seem to know how to debate! You don't have to spend all your time answering the question. Just give a 5 word answer, and PIVOT to your preferred talking point. Of course he doesn't know how to debate. This was Trump's FIRST 1v1 debate and he had to partially debate the moderator. For someone who has been doing this for 1.5 years vs someone who has been doing this for 40 YEARS, I think he did fantastic. Overall though, Hillary did look more prepared, but she should have OBLITERATED him based on experience alone. How many 1v1 did she have with Bernie Sanders to prepare her for this? How about Obama? How about during her Senate run? She is a professional politician. Debate effectiveness comes with the territory. Donald Trump is a businessman and negotiator. Debating is new to him. I won't dock him points for not looking like an all-star vs Clinton.

His answers sounded like Larry The Cable Guy speaking for the masses. Well done, but those voters aren't the ones he needs to sway. We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:http://www.forbes.com/sites/robertwood/2...7c3a05bf7b Oh. Sorry. I thought he was talking about existing tax rates.
Quote:His answers sounded like Larry The Cable Guy speaking for the masses. Well done, but those voters aren't the ones he needs to sway. Yeah, there was a lot of "Nafta is terrible, it's the worst deal ever, it's cost us jobs..." That's fine if you already believe Nafta is terrible. But I don't see how such statements can persuade the white collar white people he needs to win over to get more votes than Clinton. No specifics. I'm watching. I don't like Hillary Clinton. Here's your chance! Tell me why Nafta is terrible. I didn't get an answer. Tell me why I should pay more for stuff in order to save some guy's job in Ohio.
Quote:Oh. Sorry. I thought he was talking about existing tax rates. I am also not including the massive regulations she wants to place on the energy industry. You can only subsidize so much clean energy product, but if the demand is there then its going to be wasted just like Solyndra. People aren't aware of the ramifications of Barack Obama's energy policy which will be amplified x10 with Hillary. When you destroy the coal industry, like what is being done right now, you aren't just destroying the industry itself but also the SHIPPING industry. Railroads are downsizing, shutting down, cutting jobs, etc across the country because there so no more coal to ship. Huge ramifications. The economy will collapse under her policies, or at least creep to a halt (which it is already doing). |
